OK disappointed with not getting a ticket, I hope you all got some success in getting one.

But I'm quite annoyed with this please see link below:
http://www.getmein.com/tickets/pearl-ja ... 43170.html

This legalized ability to tout tickets is just plainly wrong. Also I presume exchanging of tickets was not possible.
At time of checking one ticket is £180

Section Price (per ticket) Qty
General Admission £184.80 1of 2 BUY
General Admission £192.50 1of 2 BUY

Am I the only person who think this just sucks?

Craig.

Yeah I fucking hate them, what fucks me off more is the little bit below their logo where it says 'Tickets For True Fans Guaanteed' - so you're only a true fan if you're prepared to pay through the nose for a ticket?

I have left a complaint for the office of fair trading (OFT) on a incident a few months ago where i wanted to get Brixton tickets for Faith No More. They took up the compliant as there was no way or a fair chance of getting a ticket when they was released. My friend alerted me that he got some tickets for £80 (face value is £32), it worked for him, for me its just immoral. I havent heard anything from the OFT since however (much hope here..)

I also think its a conflict of interest also with ticketmaster. Do we really believe that Getmein get the tickets in the same way as us?
    http://www.getmein.com/ticketmaster-uk.html

This is what scares me thanks to uselessness of our parliament, as it appears this is all stitched up legally.

    Q) I thought ticket touting was illegal. Are there any legal issues surrounding reselling tickets?
    A) In the UK, it is illegal to resell tickets for designated football matches without authorisation of the club, so you will not find those tickets available on GET ME IN! without authorisation.
The UK government has recently investigated this issue and it has called upon the events and ticketing industry to offer its own solution. The government also concluded that a well-functioning and honest resale and exchange market has clear benefits for consumers.
Ticketmaster and GET ME IN! are directly responding to the findings of the government and their recommendations, and we are commited to delivering more choice, flexibility and protection for all ticket buyers

I'm sorry I'm losing faith in the Music industry and how promotions are arranged. Not really for the Fans is it?

Prices are up today close to £300

Their slogan: "Tickets for true fans". So according to them, to be a "true" fan you must be willing - and able - to pay massively inflated prices through secondary source website.

  • So "Getmein, a ticketmaster company" get 25 tickets to resell at vastly over inflated prices - how is this legal?

What stops ticketmaster from selling all tickets for a show at vasty over-inflated prices?

I love to know how many 10C had there hands on, and how many have gone to people who have no interest in watching PJ only to make a quick buck.

The official party line is that Ticketmaster doesn't provide GetMeIn with tickets...

photos of the inside are on the Dublin thread and on the main Shepherds Bush thread on the porch.
    there's definitely a level 3.
could be that level 1 is reserved so they're selling levels 2 and 3 as 1 and 2, if you see what i mean...?
then again, that's probably bollocks ;)

Some things to consider about this show: it is an intimate venue(not many seats), there is the supply and demand factor, and not every wins or gets in this time. I didn't score tickets for face for the Borgata shows that were close to my hometown. But I sucked it up, paid around $250 for a ticket and realized that I wasn't missing this show because of money or inflated costs of tickets. The memories I have of this show are definitely well worth the cost of tickets! Just be smart and keep your eyes open and you may find something reasonable(whatever you consider a deal based on the rarity of this type of show).

Good Luck to all the locals trying for this show! I wish I had the opportunity to come visit and see this show. 8-)

well, seeing as i kinda blew the best part of 2K going to New York last year for a show at MSG i'm trying to rationalise 200-300 quid as being 'not much'... ;)

...but somehow it's proving quite difficult to do so. last year the money was 'wasted' on me and the missus on a holiday, this would be throwing money to a tout :x

    YEAH THIS IS FUCKING DISGUSTING!

And why is it not been stopped by the government?

We need some tougher laws on this in the uk!

I haven't seen the page yet but just spoke to another Jammer and he has seen sellers from the US & Europe, now they shouldn't have been able to buy them at all. They should have been stopped even in the general sale :x

General Sales... exactly that.. anyone can access. Can't really stop people from other countries buying. The likes of ticketmaster, etc. are global. They can't really impose restrictions (except on ticket numbers)

I have a feeling that those from outside the UK may have had a much easier time getting through for the sales. I don't have any evidence for this, but I know that I could access the Philly general sale when people on the board said it was impossible. It may have to do with the way internet traffic is directed, I really don't know. I do know someone from the Netherlands scored tickets in both the HMV presale and the ticketweb general sale. Coincidence? I dunno...

I know lovely. We were really hoping we would all be able to look out for each other. Too many of us without tix, not enough with spares.

To be honest I'm giving up on gigging at this rate. Prices have gone up and to be honest i think your lucky to get tickets. It used to be pretty fair to get a ticket and you had a tangible way of getting tickets. Haven't seen any tickets on the HMV website as quoted, which can only mean that most tickets are allocated before hand.

Its the legalized touting which is just got worse, the price to pay is over the fun value, its just exhausting now..

Think I wait for the bootleg if available, better value for money and i will get to hear them at some point.

Sites like that disgust me. I almost caved in and bought a ticket off eBay for the O2 Arena but in the end I refused to hand money over to a tout. No amount of money will separate me from my SBE ticket though.

Any ideas how many tickets was available to 10C? i know there was quite a few at Wembley in 2007.. so i can appreciate that demand for shepherds bush would be oversubscribed.
