    I was at Gorge 05 and not the Vic so I am biased to Gorge 05, I am sure if i was at the Vic it would be a lot closer, also set list wise Gorge blows the shit out of the Vic, I wasn't as impressed with the Vic as much as a lot of people were.

    Gorge '05 was a watershed moment in Pearl Jam's career IMO. The emergence of "modern day pearl jam" in my mind. They all knew when it was over what the fuck just happened. The Vic is a novelty in the bigger picture, a blip on the radar screen of Pearl Jam's career.

    I am going to say the Gorge....Hell just the atmosphere and the venue alone...the fact that I got to be backstage...The fact I got to see ed put his daughter on a skateboard for the first time doesnt hurt either! ;-)...Plenty of factors to go into it for me, but the setlist I would put up against any show I have been to as well.

    I was at the Vic so I am biased, but the I choose the Vic. And you have to include Ed opening for the band in the set.

    Go back and really listen to the Gorge 05 boot. Way more mistakes and sloppy play than usual. And by the whole band not just Ed.

    But I wasn't there and I understand the vibe of a place makes up for all of that.

    i gotta say vic cause i was there, the gorge set list is impressive though.
    Small my table, seats just 3, its not crowded, its just lucky me

    I was there and I kinda agree that the Vic show is maybe a bit overhyped. There were some stellar moments... All or None as an opener, In Hiding as a singalong... but overall, there were a lot of times where I was thinking the set was missing something. There are a lot of holes left by not having any staples... they get played for a reason. And some of those songs at the Vic aren't played often for a reason too.

    That said, it was still really cool. I like the look of the Gorge set, but I wasn't at the show and my impressions of the whole Gorge stand are tainted by the fact that the box set has possibly the worst sound quality of any live recording I've ever heard.

    and i was at the vic, not one of my fav shows cuz the crowd sucked, but going off the set list I would take the gorge... i think...
    Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

    Thats the thing, I understand the significance of seeing PJ in a venue that holds what? 800 people? that is pretty epic in itself. Also the 2 things you mentioned, All or None as the opener and In Hiding were amazing, also any show with Sonic Reducer is stellar in my books. I just really thought they were gonna bust out like really rare songs for a fan club only show, Fatal, Tremor Christ, Rival, All Those Yesterdays, I even thought there was a possibility for No Way.

    I'm sure it could have been different from where I was, and the crowd energy and sing alongs were awesome during the show. But before pj went on people were saving front row for people at a GA show because they went to get a poster, people were coming back into the pit and expecting to get their spot 2 rows back becuase they were there before, and then got mad when you wouldn't move for them to get in front of you.
    Sorry, but at a GA show there is respect for others in the pit, yes, but there is no saving / holding of spots, period. It just took a lot out of the show for me. Now Lollapalooza 2 nights later was amazing, got front row for that one, and I would take it over either of these 2 shows.
    Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

    No disrespect to anyone... BUT

    the setlist doesn't necessarily make a show better than another. There are far more circumstances that do. The biggest one being the crowd. I was at a concert on Friday night... GREAT BAND, GREAT SET..... shitty fuckin crowd. I wanted to kill people. :twisted: (j/k)
