So is everyone expecting a happy go lucky Ed with Bush gone?

the facts are these: obama is engaged in fighting two wars. He isnt going to pull out troops. And he has done precious little to help people who are losing homes and jobs and whatnot.

Ed and the band have always been outspoken on things they supported. They spoke out against Clintons bombing of Kosovo. And spoke out against the war in Iraq. Avocado wasnt an AntiBush record, even though people made it out to be. The president is mentioned in one song. But thats it. The album is more about what it felt like to be American in 2006. Bush was only one part of that.

Got Some is an attack on Obama. Bush is gone. The only person who is at the head of the war machine, besides the dems and republicans in the house and senate, is Obama. When Ed says are you getting out, have you ever heard of diplomatic resolve, I doubt he is talking about Bush. Its clearly obama.

I hope that in the future Ed and the guys, continue to speak out, no matter who is in office.

Because despite Obama being in office, soldiers are still dying. Just like when Bush held office. Bush can be blamed for some things and should be. But at a certain point, it gets old. Also sharing blame are the countless Dems in the senate and house, who voted in lock step with Bush on virtually everything he did, whether thats the patriot act, or the war, or wiretapping, or torture. No one thought Bush was about the people. Thats what makes the Pelousy's and Reids of the world so evil. They pretend to be "the opposition" and are really just wolves in sheeps clothing. How is Pelousy knowing about torture and saying "they should be doing more" in terms of torture, and then keeping her mouth shut for years, any different than Bush authorizing torture. It isnt

By "bailing out his banker buddies" are you talking about TARP? I'm pretty sure that wasn't part of the stimulus. In fact, I'm pretty sure that came from the previous administration.

yes, it was done a month or 2 before the election so that 1 was all Bush and Sec Paulson

no, why would anyone expect that?
ed at the very least has always appeared to be one to hold our elected officials up to their accountability. i am sure ed views obama in the same light....accountable. if ed grows unhappy with this administration, i am sure we'll hear from him....along with a great # of us who were/are obama supporters. right now, i honestly don't expect too much comment. it's still early, lots in the works...but yea, i do believe ed is hopeful.

I do think the music he writes when he's angry though is not as poppy and more driving, which I like better. It does seem that the unhappy mood overall makes better lyrics and music...at least it appears that way sometimes...

Guess I'm different. I actually got a high off of the moody lyrics - whether politically inspired or not - because it made me feel so fucking good that Ed/the band/whomever wrote the words felt the same way I did. AND, that the personal frustration I was feeling was being given an outlet through rockin ass music. Their venting was my venting.

I'm not getting the same type of feeling from The Fixer, but that might change as soon as I'm able to hear it LIVE.
