Actually the raise was supossed take effect 2 months ago.....
So this week I will get all the money they owe me on that raise....In one lump some....

I don't really like my job and at times hate everything about it, but they just laid off people in my department (again) and I am still here. I get more work for same pay. I don't think this department can get any smaller. I would like to get a new job, but the economy sucks and if I get a new one and it is in a similar field, I know I will just end up hating it as well. I need more vacation days and a shorter commute at the very least. I think that would make this job a little better.
In the grand scheme of things I try not to dwell on the fact that I don't like my job. It is pretty easy and I make good money. It could be a lot worse, which is what I have to tell myself. The key is to find other things outside of work that bring me joy.

What I hate about my job, I work for the gas company, people can't pay their bills, so it's up to me to call and try to collect, or shut off their gas, which means them and their kids can't take showers with hot water, can't use the stove to cook, or in the winter have heat. It breaks my heart and give me anxiety when the elderly can't afford to live either, but the great part is, I can be on here all day long!
I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me...GUARANTEED!
I don't hate my job ........ but I hate the unit I am working in just now.In a 20 year career I have never worked in such a dull,lifeless,undynamic space.No one laughs ..... the head boss has actually been heard to complain and chastise people who are open enough to have a laugh in their day to lighten the load.
She needs surgery to remove that pole thats stuck up her arse.

that's a good attitude to have. i don't hate nor love my job. it's a good job and i am thankful to have it. the part i bolded, i 100% agree with. i DO get excellent vacation/holiday leave, sick leave, lots of perks, good pay, etc...tho i do have a longish commute (while i miss losing the time, i enjoy the train tho). i actually would love to stay in my current job...indefinitely. i used to do a job i *love*d...but even that, can still develop burnout, and while i had great vacation leave - i was a teacher! - the pay sucked, not much security, etc.....thus why i am where i am. i am thankful and hope to continue...
no matter how much i enjoyed any job, it's what having a job affords me outside of work hours which is most important to me. my current job gives me the income and the time to do so.
