ive met him a few times..'excuse me sir' was the first time, 'hey ed' both other times. Though he started the last conversation ha.
  • I called him Eddie this year in NYC. My wife called him, "you're fucking gorgeous!" Just a small tidbit from that meeting. I asked Ed if they would please play the Spectrum in Philly before it gets demolished and he just grinned at me and said they were working on something.

    Beautiful..........if i call at all
  • "I shall call him...Eduardo..."

Seriously...I'd say, "Hey, I heard you were a total baby and you sulk when you lose at pool..."

Nahhh...I'd probably say "Excuse me..." because being Canadian, that's one of the things we say most often.

I know I would totally make an ass out of myself, because even though I am so envious and curious and so in awe when anyone posts on here that they have met him, I would like so do something uncool, like tell him how much I like his writing, tell him how I almost gave up writing until I heard his words in the songs, tell him how much I think he is so much like the rest of us that we can actually think he is one of us.........

then I would say, "bye" and as he went off into stardomhood, I would go off in mundanehood, I would say, "damn Su you are an ass!"

so, like, Jesus, and Ghandi, the man would be better off left in my imagination. oh and that old neighbor guy that I use to watch drive by on his motorcycle that I have always had this crush on and now have created this image that is so beyond real.........yeah, that's the club he'd be in........

Sorry, he wouldn't like that. Apparently at a concert or somewhere a couple of girls called out "We love you Eddie" and he replied "how can you love me when you dont even know me?". He's not into the "I love yous", hero worship type of thing at all. As for myself, I'd just call him Eddie if I ever got to talk to him. As a matter of fact, I did have a (short) coversation with him once. I called out to him over a balcony and he responded in a very nice way.

I think it'd be more of a case of hero-worshipping if I based my words on how he would like them, quite frankly. I really hope that if I ever do meet him that I can be as honest as possible. If I feel like saying I love you, then Eddie is just going to have to get over it. :)

I apparantly figured out exactly the right thing to say to Eddie when I got a HUGE compliment back from him. So, I agree with you; it's all in how you come across when you talk to him, and that blatent hero worship speech isn't the way to go about it.

On the two occasions I met him, it was Hi Ed. He's low key.
