  • I've just emailed HMV with a formal and very strong complaint. I will keep you all posted but I plan to take this all the way to the top. Maybe those of us who they messed about with the links should all write to the same person? I'll try to get the name and details of the right person.

I've counted around 15 pairs on ebay, and as I type there are 13 pairs on viagogo.com and 26 tickets on seatwave.com.

That's 82 (about 5% of capacity) minimum being touted, not to mention those that will be touted outside the venue.

It's a pretty shit situation, and it looks as if this is where the market is headed.

And I just found this article that states a figure of 5% as well. Hmmm...: http://www.app.com/article/20090629/OPINION01/906300317/1029/OPINION/Tsk++tsk+on+tickets

Brill thanks PDH I am going to use all of this in my campaign / search for help. I will continue to keep you all updated but at some point I hope to start up a petition - I'll do this once I have been given the contact name I have been waiting for!

Please let me know if there's anything at all I can do to help out. These shady business practices have been annoying me for a while but after witnessing this week's fiasco first hand, I feel that more needs to be done.

I'd also like to help out in any way possible. We need to get a campaign going and keep it going. It sickens me how the government took action on the reselling of tickets for sporting events yet they refuse to do the same for concerts. I always suspected that sites such as ticketmaster we're making money by reselling tickets to a partner site.

When you phone up, which details do you need to refund money back from ticketweb?

I was using my folk's credit card as mine is maxed out...so I can't access online banking to see if funds have been taken.

They don't 'refund'. They will just tell you nothing has gone off the card because their computer system says you haven't bought tickets. It's my problem, not theirs. The computer system tried to take money, so it looks like it has gone but it really hasn't ?????

Then they will say wait a couple of days and see what happens. And maybe sorry...

For what it is worth, they just asked me for the long number on the card and the card holder's name
we're all going to the same place...

Theres a pair of tickets on ebay for £765. Thats f*ckin insane!!! And the fella selling them has the cheek to put in firstly that there face value is £40 each and then he also, as the picture for the item, has BEST BUY in big capital letters. Best buy me eye! Its not right that this kinda thing is going on! Is it not illegal to tout tickets?? You always see people getting pulled on it outside sporting events by the cops! This guy is actually advertising hes a tout by telling the face value and then his "best buy" offer of £765! Its cracked!!!!!!

As long as the money goes back I don't care...has this happened to anyone in the past and actually turned out ok? I've never used ticketweb before and not sure how legit they are on this sort of confusion.

Good luck with that. ALL gig tickets have the blurb on the back saying "void if resold" (or words to that affect), but somehow it's OK to resell them on eBay. I think they've got some loop-holes such as listing the face-value costs, etc.

Phew! I have to say that must be the worst slap for peeps - to have you card charged but then told no, sorry no tickets. I'm sure legally they have to provide the tickets then or something? Maybe not but they darn well should!!

Is it possible to buy tickets for UK gigs on Ticketweb if you live in the US? I tried to get tickets for a RATM gig in Australia before i went over for a few months but i couldn't because i wasn't an Australian resident.
