The only thing I was wondering was, why did Comcast do a mass press release with saying it was only 2 days.
To build hype to get the shows sold out faster on Friday.
Comcast is trying to get every penny out of the old building before tearing it down in the spring.
Yup, and once they sell out....Surprise, a Third show!
Truthfully, I wouldn't be surprised to see the announcement only once the shows are completely sold out (which should be pretty damn quickly, if the 10C presale was any indication).

maybe no 10c presale for a 3rd show? would they ever do that?
This is just my opinion but I really think there would be a presale before a third show.
You have what will be the last show ever at the venue and a band that will most likely sell out two shows really quickly. The secondary market (scalpers) would be charging an arm and a leg for night 3 if they get access to the best floor seats. And people would be paying obscene amount of money just to say they saw the last show ever at the Spectrum.
Now would PJ want to play that type of show full of people who may or may not be big fans up front and dropped lots of money on tix? It's not like the band or the venue gets any money from scalpers (i.e. Stubhub, ticketsnow, etc.)
So I think there will be some sort of presale when night 3 is announced.

there are 2 ways rollover shows can happen:
1. the way other bands do it, as soon as the announced shows sell out, the third show pops up on the ticket site, unannounced. if this is the case, any 10C pre-sale would have to be a "reservation" type thing where they tell us that you can reserve your tickets, and IF an additional show happens, your card will be processed. that means this reservation process would have to happen today.
2. the other way is to just let the 2 shows sell tomorrow, and then later they announce that a 3rd show has been added that will go on sale next Friday. if that's the case, then 10C would have all week next week to figure out how to sell pre-sale tickets.

i pray for Option #2 since I will be away from my computer again later today for work meetings!
what would people be more upset about:
1. ten club makes announcement and puts tickets on sale immediately without notice or
2. no ten club announcement and the show just appears onsale during the public onsale for shows 1 and 2

definitely 2.
with 1, at least some 10C members will get the good seats rather than the brokers taking them.
