Why is this board mostly new members?

Well, I got into the band in 2005, and I was fifteen at the time... not sure what you mean when you say it speaks volumes. In what sense?

Not sure, I am from 2006. Been in the fan club since 1996 (I think, maybe '98 145XXX so wherever that puts me), just never created an account for the forums.

I'm not new (116xxx), I just never really got on here till recently. Now that I am though I'm addicted. This shit is like crack or what I would imagine crack would be like.

I saw them in 1992 for $4 at my college and again at Lolla that year ... have seen them nearly 20 times over the years ... including a trip to Europe.

I joined the 10c in '06 ... would of joined much earlier had I known ...

so, what's your point, OP?

very different than in past years, and from like 1998-2003. Lots more love flowing.

Don't go by the board join date it's wrong for a lot of people like me. I joined the board in '98 or whenever it was it first came into existence but there was a problem when they merged my accounts during the "spring cleaning" so now it says 2005 and i lost all my old posts and old name (nothing they can do to fix it, I've called and talked to them). I actually join 10c back in '94.

Became a serious fan the day I first saw them 06/03/06 at East Rutherford 2 when I was 17. Kind of liked them for a few years and even though I knew about 4 of the songs that were played I was instantly hooked. Had the last seat in Continental yet couldn't have been happier. Kind of miss those days as it gets so easy for fans to get hissy over a slight bump in the road.

been a ten club member since '98 saw them for the first time in '93. Seen them 30+ times.

I have been a ten club member since 98... However, I had 2 board names. One I had 2 boards ago and 1 i had since 2004. When they combined names I didn't know I would loose all my posts and my year changed. Kinda sucked.

I don't have my old name anymore, hence this name ;p And yes, I said I barely ever log in. Was just an observation.

Honestly, I joined last summer after my first show. I was a huge fan from when Ten came out and I was 11. I never saw a reason to join a fan club then, and that included REM, whom I have always adored. Honestly, as a kid, I didn't have any way to get to those early shows. And then, for many reasons, I floated away into less intense music for many years. But I came back a few years ago, finally went to a show, and probably haven't spent a day since then not listening to some PJ. It blew my mind, and then I got to go to Hartford, thanks to a 10c member. And those experiences probably have something to do with being so bummed about the Philly shows today.

Anyhow, I think part of the surge right NOW, not going back several years, has to do with touring and a new album coming out. Relatedly, lurkers might be coming out a bit more now too. Just a theory.
