AD shipping is soooo expensive because they know we will pay it
Sad but really it's true that we will all pay it. Well most of us.

That is why i back off the 7 in that is crazy i will go and support Easy street and buy it from there with no shipping cost
  • If I had a decent record store (where I knew I could actually get PJ stuff) in my neck of the woods, I'd get it there, too......

  • after a paul mccartney ticket today ($275) and the backspacer LP my checking account had $14.59 in it. with shipping the fixer 7" would be $14.49 so i just said fuck it, and bought it. leaves me a dime in the bank lol
  • WTF, $14 to ship a 7" to Norway, and I can`t see the problem why we can`t add other items to the order. At least we could have got som more stuff for the crazy shipping costs.

I didn't even check shipping I was so excited. I only bought the LP, and yeah, I would've have bought it anyway, but that is a lot I must say. Especially for the international fans.

15 bucks to have the 7inch sent to Europe can either be

    a) a mistake
    b) a rip off
    c) a sign for an yet unannounced 10C extra

I'd like to have c) come true, but don't believe it so no order for this from me since 20$ is simply *too much*

Album on vinyl is in the basket though.

Just some stats I dug up from my order history (I live in Canada):
In 2006, when Self-Titled was released, it cost me $18 (all USD), plus $5.50 for shipping.
In May of this year, I paid $7.00 for a 'free' holiday single.
Now, with no self-restraint, I purchased the LP for for $19.98 (which I believe is fair), with a $15 shipping charge - nearly doubling the value of the album. I also have just purchased a $5.99 single (a bit steep, but still within 'fair' range), with an $11.00 shipping charge.

i work at a canada post outlet, and in hte past 3 years i've worked there, the rates go up annually and sometimes semi annually. i think next week the price of Xpresspost is going to be jacked up as well... i'm no expert but i'm assuming that our postal system will affect the USPS' international prices... or might anyways??
or maybe the USPS is hiking up their prices on a continuous basis too...
/then again, it could just be the tenclub....

At first glance the $15.00 shipping on the LP seemed pretty expensive.

    But after thinking about it

The album comes out in 2 months.

I guess in order to ensure that Backspacer is pressed, sealed, mailed, and delivered to the thousands and thousands of fan club members around the world, who expect this at their door no later than the day of release or before...they probably had to jack up the shipping costs a little to ensure that it gets priority delivery.

that's a pretty fucking tight schedule to meet.

    Or...

This could all be a big mistake and we're gonna get a refund tomorrow.

    Whatever...Got the album...Got the Single.

Now I just have to patiently wait for 8/24 and 9/20 to hurry the fuck up.

That I did! I know it's my own choice whether I buy or not, but I'm hoping this is a mistake. If it's not, this will be the last time I buy goods from the Ten Club. Buying Into the Wild (and presumably other LPs) from Aural Exploits was a perfectly painless (and cheaper) experience, as is buying posters from Brad/Ames Bros., and extra tickets from other Pearl Jam fans. It just seems I can no longer justify supporting the Ten Club directly, as they can no longer compete with alternative sources of goods. That said, I will continue to renew (like the fool I am), if for nothing else, the good folks on this site.

My vote is with the latter. I think these shipping charges are highly over-stated on the Ten Club's part.. if that is the case, it's a pretty devious way to profit.. people see an LP for $20, feel that's reasonable, so buy it. They hesitate a little bit at the $15 shipping charge, and before you know it, you've got a $35 (USD) vinyl. Disappointing if this is the case.
