Picking a wedding song, fiancee and I love PJ!

OK, getting married a week tomorrow, on July 17th. Same day as my 40th and my fiancee's 36th birthday and we have never been married before (rare at our ages!)

I love Pearl Jam and so does she. I have a 3 day party at my house. Have an amazing violinist on Friday and an amazing acoustic guitarist on Saturday for our 2 big events. They said they can both learn anything.

I am thinking Yellow Ledbetter but I cannot see that on violin! I can obviously see an acoustic version.

You guys are experts and I am going to the source... make a suggestion for us, we both love all Pearl Jam... has anyone else done anything similar?

Thanks to my PJ friends!

Definitely Porch. By far the most romantic song in all of PJ's catalog.

Came across this about a year or so ago. Getting married in september and we hired a guitarist who learned this exact version. My fiance will walk down the isle to this version of untilted. should be pretty cool
    Go Birds!!!!
  • My wife and I kinda chose two: Van Morrison's "Have I Told You Lately" (kind of traditional), but also chose Wishlist (for me). Ledbetter kinda cool too! Congrats.
I am myself, like you somehow.

Ah THAT'S A GREAT IDEA! Will have to run that by the girl tonight and see what she thinks, we're getting married next July 4th :) just set the date.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

You're getting married on Independence Day? :S Anyway, I would suggest You're True... but mainly because of the lyrics, so the tune may not float your boat. Actually, after flipping through their catalog, PJ doesn't have very many love songs.... I would personally just skip PJ at the wedding. Thin Air I think is the best bet, I wouldn't play YL personally. Eddie SERIOUSLY mumbling, lyrics about they don't wave and boxes and bags? Forget it; its an amazing closer for a rock show, not a wedding.

    Totally "Parachute"

I was actually going to say that, until a lyrics check made me remember it wasn't the happiest of songs...

    You
All the dreams we shared and
    Lights we turned on
But the house is getting dark

I agree with everything you just said. YL is a joke for a wedding song.
