Pearl Jam's American Shows Since 2003

OK, a couple may be missing here and there but I threw together a quick list of where Pearl Jam has played in the US since the conclusion of the Riot Act tour in 2003, leaving out things like secret shows at the Showbox or Easy Street, etc. It also includes the upcoming 2009 shows.

The list is arranged by the Top 20 cities in the US by population and then at the bottom are some places they played that aren't in the Top 20.

As you can see it is quite interesting. Look at the lack of representation in the Top 10 cities. The 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th and 10th largest cities in the country have not seen Pearl Jam since 2003, although San Jose is next door to San Fran which has had plenty.

List of largest cities in the US.

City Number of shows since 2003 (including 2009)
1. New York City 4 (includes Avalon and Irving Plaza) +2 more in East Rutherford
2. Los Angeles 7 (includes Hollywood in 2006, but not Santa Barbara)
3. Chicago 7 (includes Vic, Lollapalooza and HOB)
4. Houston 0
5. Phoenix 0
6. Philadelphia 7 (includes Camden)
7. San Antonio 0
8. Dallas 0
9. San Diego 2
10. San Jose 0
11. Detroit 1 (Auburn Hills)
12. San Francisco 4 (not including Bridge School)

15. Austin 2 (including the ACL TV show)
16. Columbus 0
17. Ft. Worth 0
18. Charlotte 0
19. Memphis 0
20. Baltimore 0

Great post. I had a mock tour in another thread that would of pounded out many of the neglected cities. I wish they would have taken care of many of these cities. To think that there has been zero Houston shows is shameful. I feel bad for the folks down there.

Do you think they do a Southern leg in January/February. Phoenix - Texas - New Orleans - Tenn - ATL - Charlotte?
    Chicago 6/29/98 - Nashville 8/17/00 - Cleveland 4/25/03- Chicago 6/18/03
    Chicago 5/16/06 - Milwaukee 6/30/06 - Bonnaroo 6/14/08 - Milwaukee (EV)8/19/08
    Chicago 8/23/09 - St. Louis 5/4/10 - East Troy 9/3/11 - East Troy 9/4/11
    Minor League Park 7/19/13 - Milwaukee 10-20-14 - Bonnaroo 6/11/16
Minor League Park 8/20/16 - Minor League Park 8/22/16

I think I am a 10club member so I can get good seats for the concerts. The only problem is I live in Atlanta and they dont play here anymore.. Love this band but the mgmt is like the federal reserve, no transparency... with that being said, I cant blame them for not playing a lot of cities (especially in the South) if they are not going to make any money. It isnt just 5 members anymore. They have families and need to think about finances. Nothing wrong with that.. That is why I cant blame them for the Target thing..good for them... I wish Target wanted to pay me a lot of money...

Bump. What kind of touring is this? Ignoring the biggest cities in the county for years?

I'd be curious if you map the cities with the greatest disposable imcome, I think that would line up a lot more with the cities most visited.

You know, honestly? I think it has to do more with geographic location. We may have some of the biggest cities down here, but they are hundreds of miles apart, unlike the NE.

But I don't care if that is their excuse because a million other bands seem to manage it.
