Because due to all the bitcing and complaing that goes on around here about stupid little stuff, all that would do would cause great chaos on the message board. Maybe they don't want the sight to crash due to all of the complainers. :D

I have a question about seating. When I purchase 2 tickets from ten club will the seats be together no matter where they are????

    NO

They are 99.9% of the time but I know someone who had 10c tickets to EV at the Ryman that were split. One on the floor other front row balcony.

Again, you only know your ticket location when you have your tickets in hand, whether you download them from ticketmaster or not. If you get them mailed to you they DO NOT tell you your seats before you get the tickets. EVER.

TM always tells you your seat numbers at point of purchase. ALWAYS. :)
  • While I certainly understand the reasons for which this isn't done - scalping, too much work to notify each member (especially when doing a 40-show tour like they used to - I wouldn't mind getting a general idea of where the seats are going to be. They could do this by taking a map of the venue and breaking the tickets up into blocks (sort of like they did in 03) according to the 10C number. Using colours, they could show, for example, rows 1-5 = 10C# 1-50,000, rows 6-10=50,001-80,000, etc.

that REALLY sounds like someone swapped out two random singles for someone's 10c pair.

probably to prevent pre-concert bitching... then hopefully after the show you will have had too much fun to complain about your seats... though god knows we still hear about it from some

  • Another thought, although I agree with pretty much everything being said about why they don't let us know, is it possible the lottery of the first two rows and the other two have something to do with it?

I kind of find the not knowing fun, but that's me.

No, they have never told us our seat location for as long as there has been reserved seating at PJ shows. The lottery for the first couple rows and the other two is a new thing.

Yeah, I bet the odds of it happening are like .00000001% chance.

The Ten Club states: Group seating is not an option, but your pair of tickets will be seated together.

I like the fact that I have no clue where my seats are at for a PJ show... The anticipation for the tickets just a couple hours before the show adds to the excitement! It's like I'm a little kid again on xmas morning...

I did like the random seat selection at the EV shows though... First show I went to we were 15 rows back and I was happy. At the second show we were 2nd row! Can't tell you how excited I was after I opened that envelope up in Chicago!

Creates a nice energy in the tick line too...

Doubtful as both seats were with other 10c members. The Ryman has some weird seats where the columns for the balcony come down and that is probably why. Like the pew we were in had 9 seats. It is probably something that only happens every now and then, but does happen.
  • I've been assuming that they are still going by the 'broke up into blocks' method, with the exception being the 4 rows of 'lottery' seating. In this way (as in '03), by your 10C number, you are put into a block of seats - and then that block is given out on a first come first served basis. So while you might get slightly better seats than someone with a slightly lower seniority number because you got in line earlier, they will be only that: slightly better. And even the 10C people don't know exactly which will be your seats until they are handed to you.

Worked out nicely in San Diego in 03, met some really great folks in line, sold one of them my extra ticket, ended up getting seats all together, and we hung out all afternoon. :)
There's a lot to be said for nowhere...

They stopped doing it that way to keep people from having to line up all day to get their tickets. Now, yours seats are predetermined before you get there. If you get there at noon or 5 minutes before the show, your seats are the same.

    Picture it this way.....

My wife and I wait around before a Ed solo show to try and meet Eddie Vedder......and after a chill out session with some other jammers we meet up with Ed....it was an awesome moment....and from there we walked down to pick up our 10C seats......4th row centre.....these were our first 10Club seats ever.....and after meeting our musical hero and having great experince with him we get 4th rows as 10C virgins......It was a wicked suprise we got from 10C.

Thats how I see it, a suprise from the 10C with good intentions.....I dont even look at the scalper part of it or resellers....even if that could have truth behind it....I choose to see the good in it all.....and so far it was pure gold!
