Viejas is formerly Cox Arena on the SDSU campus. They played there in 06. It's used for their basketball team (among other things), but it's not as large as an NBA arena. Probably closer to 10,000 capacity.

I have seen Pearl Jam around 20 times, and the San Diego Show in 2006 very well could have been the best of them all.

I have seen them around 25 times starting in 1995 and I'd have to agree that the SD 2006 show was probably the best of those.[/quote]
Ditto. Ed always tears it up in San Diego. Always. The 06 San Diego was in my top 3 of PJ shows. They tend to play down to L.A crowds, but maybe things have turned around. 4 shows. Unprecedented. With Ben opening? Crazy. Ed and Ben have to reprise Under Pressure.

Well, you have 2 10c numbers and 4 shows .... odds are good you'll get 2 of the 4 ...

anyone got the skinny on the San Diego venue? nice?

Do you remember if they used 3/4 of the seating (look at seating chart)
or did they use full seating, where there were seats behind the band?

I was going to fly from the East Coast to Seattle...but I'm LA bound now...6000 seats? It's going to be fucking over the top! EV's venues where 2,500 seats...so this isn't that much bigger... :D

Moving to LA has already reaped benefits aside from the weather. I can't wait to spaz out when the website crashes.

My top three shows as well. Eddie turned around and sang 'Last Kiss' to the crowd behind the stage. They sold every seat in the arena in 06.

So, in another words we don't have to worry about fan club seats being back there?

Are you sure that wasn't the L.A. show?

In any case, he DID do that at the first L.A. show in '06, too.

The seats behind the stage were the last ones sold on ticketmaster at the first LA show (after the others sold out)...definitely not 10C seats.

They sold all of the seats. The show was incredible. Only other show I saw that topped it was Day on the Hill in Lawrence, KS, because it was my first show, and PJ was new. Remembering SD 06: I am a long time Sonic Youth fanatic and after that show I had completely forgot they even opened. It was a very special evening.

Good luck to all getting tickets.

You may be right. Ed climbed the stage in San Diego. He went ape shit. Ed did play to the back of the stage in L.A in 06. In any event if those 06 shows are any indication of future performance do San Diego. However I have a feeling there may be a huge huge glut of guests at the L.A. show seein as how Ed has gone all Hollywood on us. If your into that kinda thing. Who knows who could show up and sit in at the L.A. gigs. That's the benefit of doing L.A gigs. In 03 when PJ did Santa Barbara they pulled everyone out of the hat. I just pray Ed is over his Tim Robbins thing. I almost puked when he came on during L.A. 06

They turned and faced the back for Last Kiss both in SD and LA. Turning and facing the back is something they have routinely done for years when playing Last Kiss.

Ed climbed the ladder during Last Kiss in SD, which was one of the crazier things I've seen an artist do onstage.
