Ok, first let me start by saying that I love PJ and they can really do no wrong in my eyes, AND I have been fortunate to catch them in other cities over the past few years. But for God's sake, what in the hell is it going to take to get a Seattle show? I agree that the tweet did NOT sound promising for some West shows, so something tells me Seattle is a no go.

The only thing I can think of is that Key Arena really is a crappy venue, especially from a sound quality perspective. Also, Seattle audiences are kind of lame (no offense, but it is true) and I think the band has even made comments about that...
Oh well, I guess I will just wait and see.

I think you'll be happy come Wednesday, but that's just me....
    :):):) i think the same..
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
    "..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”

to my good friends from the left coast... come out to philly for the 3 shows in october and you will see what the OP means about the crowds...

the left coast is just more laid back, about everything... sporting events are the exact same... going to a baseball game on the west coast and the east coast are 2 TOTALLY different experiences and crowds... it is not a good thing or a bad thing, it is just a slight style and attitude difference

and when i went to the gorge in 2005, i met about 100 peole in the parking lot, and at least 90 were from the east coast 8-)

Saw the 98 shows and 02 shows in Seattle, they are on the bottom of my list as far as crowds go and I have seen close to 100 concerts in my life. Gorge crowds ARE NOT SEATTLE CROWDS!!!! For the last time people, the Gorge is NOT Seattle. With that said no one knows why they dont play Seattle except for the band.
I never said The Gorge was Seattle. But the facts are, the Puget Sound residents make upwards of 90% of the people who attend ALL Gorge shows. So, yeah, the crowds are one and the same.

What fact? The fact you like to think in your head? The Gorge is known nation wide as one of the best places to see a concert. Claiming Puget Sound residents make up 90% of the people that go there is on par with Palin logic. Everyone I talked to AT the gorge shows were from out of town!!! Like out of state out of town!!!

Really. Are you privy to insider info?[/quote]

Look at the scheduling... put two and two together. Gorge is not happening this year. Sorry.

I am not just talking about just Pearl Jam/Gorge shows. The majority of the people I talk to when I am there for any number of different shows, the people there are mainly from Seattle, Tacoma, Everett, Puyallup, Olympia, Lakewood, Federal Way, etc. Yes, PJ attacks more out-of-towners than probably most, but those same people would have traveled here for a Seattle show too. And, as history dictates, generally when a band plays The Gorge, it doesn't play Seattle, and vise versa. Gorge shows are advertised in the Puget Sound region, as the majority of the crowds travel from.....wait for it....The Puget Sound.

So now it's a lot of people from puget sound go to the Gorge? What happened to 90% of concert goers to the Gorge are from there? You still standing by that "fact"? Regardless is doesn't matter... I know the NW is getting shows in some shape or form. I just hope they announce everything at the same time.

Listen, I don't want to argue with anyone, especially about things no one can prove in any way shape or form.

Bottom line, and I think we can all agree on is; we all really, really, really, want Peal Jam to play some actual home town, SEATTLE shows. I can get on board with that hope and dream.

As far as bashing and calling all Seattle fans and crowds, lame. Nope, I cannot join that party. Nor, can I bash the quality of Key Arena for concerts or sporting events as I have seen too many fantastic shows there over the years.

I never said "a lot", I interchangeably used "90%" and "majority" because well, 90% is the majority. In no way shape or form did I back down on my 90% claim. If at any point you thought you caught me back peddling, let me say again for you that I am saying that 90% of The Gorge crowds are from the Puget Sound region.

And again, all of this Gorge debates are quite moot as I also believe that The Gorge is off the table this time around for PJ.

I wont call them all lame but the Pearl Jam shows I have seen in Seattle had weak crowds. And I have seen them all over the country. I remember Ed even saying something like "you guys awake?" in 98.

As long as nothing was canceled or anything changed, we will have some shows in NW like I said. Seattle being one/two of them. I just hope they tell us about them tm.

I don't think it matters if its at the Gorge or Key, they attract alot of out of towners regardless (including me when I traveled from victoria).

The 2000 shows in seattle had people from everyone.. out of the people I spoke with, there were that weren't from washington, than were from washington.

I guess because seattle/gorge are considered the hometown shows they attract fans from everywhere. Does anyone remember how bad some of the 2000 10c tickets were? :)

So I think its a moot point. A show at the Key or a show at the gorge will both attract alot of touring pj fans.

Give me a link or a quote to anyone in the band stating that Seattle crowds are lame. It just doesn't exist.

On the boots from the '00 Key shows EV says on night #2 that the crowd from the night before sucked. Also, I believe he said at one of the Gorge shows (can't remember which) 'For a Seattle crowd -if this is considered a Seattle crowd- you're pretty good.'

I haven't listened to the 2000 boots in some time, i will have to give them a listen again.

I was at and listen to the Gorge shows frequently and do not recall Ed implying what you are claiming he implied....that being that you think Ed was saying that he was surprised that a Seattle crowd was and/or could be pretty good. Correct me if i am wrong about what you are implying.

Im surprised at how much pessimism there is about the West getting some love- although I have no proof, its seems like a no-brainer that the West will get some more shows because of the "current info" thread started by Tim that specifically mentions the "western US". Also, they have not really played any significant West gigs since 06. Im thinking: open in Missoula (yeah!) as they have in the past, followed by the Gorge, some Canadian shows and Seattle love- then maybe a few more West of the Mississippi. Oh yeah, Jeff said on a local radio station in March that they are playing "the west, the south and a few shows in Europe".....

I like the way your thinking!!! However no Gorge! They will play, i meant to say i think they will play, Seattle, Missoula, SLC, Vegas, and LA

sounds good huh... i thought so...
