Hi. Im new to this. I need to ask a question about buying concert tickets for Australia through the Ten club.

From comments Ive read we dont get preference over US members but what I want to know is do we pay US dollars for the tickets? In the past has it been worth the extra money on conversion or is it better to try my luck with tickatek when general tickets to the public are on sale?

This really depends on a number of things:
Last time only the first concert in each state had Ten Club tickets set aside for it.
The 10C shows were far better becasue you got people in the first few rows that actually supported the band rather than those that were just there for a night out.
There was talk back in 03 that Eddie was unhappy that all the shows weren't 10 C seated, so whether that will change things this time round I dont know
Yes we pay in US dollars for the 10C tickets and they're usually sold as a pair.
So in my opinion I'd go with the ten club tickets but they will no doubt be based on seniority too, so the lower your membership number the better your seats.

But until it's all been made official it's all speculative

    Hope this helped :?

Thanks....Im only a new 10C member as well so I will be way down on the list I suppose.

It will be my 1st PJ concert and I really want to get good seats. I am so excited!

I will be really dissappointed if I get lousy seats up the back or heaven forbid miss out altogether.

    Whats your 10c #?
Depending on your # you could try a different source if you really want up close seats

When I signed up to 10C I was only in time for the Newcastle gig and my number 400+++ and I got tickets in the ninth row for that one and there was a healthy 10C turnout for it.

For Melbourne in 06 I was row 20 something and my number is 326,XXX. But then in Sydney I was around 10th row. So it all depends.
I would get 10club seats where ever you can, because they do try to get the best seats for us!

it'll be interesting to see if 10c follow what they've done for a few of the recent sales this year and limit 10c seats to that countries residents only, wont it ....

but was that for PJ shows or just the Ed shows? i think it was just for the Ed shows. but it would be nice to see home town jammers get seniority over interstate/overseas travellers.

I'll be trying my luck with the public sale through Ticketek, 10C only sell tix in pairs which is no good for me. I went the public route in 2006 and it worked out fine, no fears about doing it again. I sometimes wonder why I maintain my 10c membership when I have no intention of ever using it for tickets, but hey.

I wouldn't worry about missing out on tickets: there's always a way. Try not to get caught up in the hysteria surrounding ticket sales, it's pretty nuts. Even if the 10C sells out their allotment, there's always the public sale. Even when the public sales "sells out", it's never really sold out. They hang on to tickets to release at later times, just keep trying your luck. I remember talking to a guy in 2006 who had a much better ticket than mine to one of the Adelaide shows, turns out he'd just rocked up on the day and asked at the box office if he could get a ticket (not that that's going to work every time, but sometimes it will).

Failing that, there'll be plenty of people who buy the 10C tickets and will be looking for someone to share their pair with, you may have luck hooking up with one of them.

yea as much as i like catching up with o/s it'd be cool to get the rights to your house

and im thinking it was a couple of pj shows as well as ed - us and somewhere europe too??? or am i completley dreaming??

  • Aussies deserve to get first preference, as do New Zealanders.

i was front row at the 2nd brisso show in 06 and the guy next to me said he brought his tickets 3 days before the show from ticketek.

3 days before and got front row. fucking ticketek hanging on to the best seats for promos and stuff and then if they don't get used sell them like the week of the show. that's a bit fucked up

if its anything like 06 you'll be lucky to have 5 or 6 Aussies in the front 10c section. same people will be there every night
    *yawn*
i might give up my 10c seats and get tix in the stands instead. change of scenery.

Not sure about that - so should all shows be by country specific only -including US? If someone wants to travel to a show and make that effort why should they not be able to get tickets by senority like locals?

    SHOW COUNT: (164) 1990's=3, 2000's=53, 2010/20's=108, US=118, CAN=15, Europe=20 ,New Zealand=4, Australia=5
    Mexico=1, Colombia=1

The same thing happened to me for Melbourne 3 in 06, except I was the guy that got front row tickets just before the show! :) To be fair I had been bothering the ticket lady for about an hour asking if anything good had come up.
  • well i'll be in the 10c seats at melb this year for the first time, seeing as how i finally got around to being a member!

yeah i did a similar thing too for the 2nd show in adelaide, i had tix about 15 rows back, checked the website the day before the show and got 2nd row.

ten club tix are definately worth it IMHO, it means you dont have to rush the website at an exact time, you have a couple of days to get on, buy tix and know you have decent tix with the people around you that you know deserve them too.

I am happy with 10c tix. I have been 4th row for the last 2 tours but only for the first shows. My number is 194xxx. Although somehow, same people seem to be first few rows for all 3!!!
Any tips for good seats 2nd and 3rd night?????

I'll be at the Melbourne shows for sure. If the tour is next year I'll do more but given my Hawaii adventures...its bad timing for me.

My 10C is low 200,000's. In 2006 I did the whole tour and scored awesome tix. Front row Perth and second row in Adelaide. 3rd row Melbourne, 4th sydney.

There are alot of Australian 10 clubbers from the very early days. And they are some very very cool characters indeed :)

I would never forfeit my membership. It has nothing to do with the tickets for me or the xmas single (but I love receiving my vinyl). It's about being a member from the early days and holding onto the love and loyalty.
