    (1) The woman buys the food.

I don't think this should be rule number one. I grill out at the pool every saturday with a big group (for the record we use charcoal) We all take turns bringing the meat to cook. This one week these girls did it and they grabbed turkey dogs instead of hot dogs........ :?

I know they are healthier and less calories but they were nasty

so upon further review i think rule number one needs to be changed :D

    Gas grills suck.
I'm really starting to believe this.

After cooking with charcoal for about 20 years, and getting REALLY good at it if I do say so myself, it was time to get a new grill last year. When I started shopping for one my husband talked me into buying our first gas grill. I've had it for a year now and I just can't seem to get the hang of it! I don't grill half as much as I used to. I'm sorry I ever bought it.

Get off of the gas grills.

Also, for us charcoal users, get off of the lighter fluid to light your briquettes. Use a charcoal chimney. It is the best way to light your charcoal.

A decent weber grill will cost anywhere from $60-$130(depending on the model) even the little piece of shit smokey joe model(that you can fit 2 hotdogs and 1 hamburger on) costs $30-$40.........

My gas grill(char-broil model) cost $99 silly dollars.......

    yep.
gas grills are just SO convenient. if you're the average joe and like to grill often, as we do, after work - even in the dead of winter - gas just starts right up and is sooo quick! charcoal definitely imparts great flavor....but even a gas grill makes food taste YUMMY! there are oh so many ways to grill, so yea...you like charcoal, great! you like gas, great! just ENJOY!

we're thinking at the end of the summer - when they go crazy with sales - of buying a bigger gas grill, more surface for grilling! we grilled all weekend long!

as to the OP....hubby and i usually shop together, tho either one of us may go if needed, solo...but hubby does ALL the cooking, and grilling, as he is far better at it. he is an AWESOME chef! 8-)

I'm going with gas grills... I do like charcoal, and enjoy it when camping or whatever, but at home I can do without the prep time and the cleanup.

I'm in the market for a new grill and I keep watching prices drop... Mine has worked well for 4-5 years, but is small and the elements are getting the best of it.

Now I'm in the mood for a good steak... There is a small butcher/deli that we always go to, and they have the best ribeyes and NY strip steaks.... yummy....

Wow Speedy. I couldn't disagree with you more. hahaha
I buy charcoal, you buy tank of propane.
I do not user lighter fluid.
While the coals are getting ready that is the time to crack a cold one or mix a stiff one. No need to rush.
Not much more clean up than on a gas grill....both need just the littlest of effort to keep in good order.

My basic rule of thumb when grilling is, slow down. No need to be in a rush. If you are in that much of a hurry there is a microwave oven in the house.

so yea...you like charcoal, great! you like gas, great! just ENJOY!
That's great and all, except that charcoal is better than gas.

there is no substitute for cooking over all natural hardwood charcoal (royal oak or STFU!)

but gas grills are great for weekday use and its much easier to control the temperature which makes them better for grilling veggies and fish, the rotisseries on some models are cool too

but give me a big piece of meat or ribs slow cooked over charcoal any day
