The Zane Lowe interview was a fun listen. It was interesting to hear Jack talk about how black vinyl is the best sounding vinyl. Apparently when you start messing with the composition of the materials it affects the sound negatively. I imagine the colored pellets you would mix in are a different composition/material than just the plain black vinyl. There was also a quick PJ reference in the interview. Zane Lowe does a great interview and the impromptu Give Peace a Chance he did with Jack and random dude on street at the end was fun.

My favorite tracks on the new record are What’s the Trick? followed by White Raven

This album is not too bad…..jack being jack for sure but a bit more cohesive than BHR.
It’s big and loud throughout.  I dig the album overall.

For sure it’s his most cohesive album to me.  Blunderbuss is probably my favourite album but some songs (sixteen saltines for example) are so out of place with everything else on the record.

top to bottom, these songs all are part of a whole

My favorites of his will always be the acoustic records and his Bonnaroo band set that was a vault set.

Album sounds good. Much more focused than Boarding House. Be interested to hear the next album!

Excited to see him in Atlanta in a few weeks. Boarding House songs sounded even better live, so would expect that with the Dawn tracks!

Really enjoyed the first listen this morning. I preordered his last 2 solo albums and couldn't get into them. I may pick this one up on my way home from the office today!
    I LOVE MUSIC.

Always been the case with black vinyl however there are so many other factors to making a record that can affect how good a record sounds. Third Man is a business, Jack knows he would sell a lot less records than he does if he stuck to black vinyl only. I love a good old reasonably priced black lp in a regular sleeve. Ive heard of some issues with blobs and stripes they do these days when the stylus meets that area. Don't really have much experience with splattered stuff. For the most part, unless you have a top of the line system I'm guessing most people wouldn't notice.

Congratulations! I was jealous that Olivia was gonna open a few shows and but not chicago. Her solo stuff and black belles work is great. Somewhat of a let down though if a set. Only 2 songs from the new album and pretty much a basic set list from the past.

Also saw the poster for the show was printed a few hours prior. The current days news printed in the background. Curious if they will try this throughout the entire tour.

A little concerned with the number of songs played. 15? That is a really low number.

    yeah, that is quite low

Still didn't go on until 930. That seems late.  Be curious if he played a full 2 hours.

Absolutely. My son loves Jack White the most in my family, and this set list definitely had him ready for a show!

    You were there?

I didn’t realize they were two openers.  No wonder he didn’t come on until 930.  How long was Jack on?

Yes, two openers. Not sure how long he played, I didn’t want it to end. Night 3 tonight! Not sure how they can match the last two nights.

Last nights show was awesome!  Crowd was great, tons of energy.  Amazing set list. The Hardest Button to Button was killer.  I like Olivia Jean, good opener. We missed the first band.  Jack came on around 9:30 and finished a round 11:15 if I remember correctly.  My first show back, since Covid.  I love spending Saturday's in Detroit, rocking out to a hometown boy.  The city was busy, Tigers game, Red Wings game and a Jack White show.  All in all a banner day in Detroit!

So happy I chose to hit the show in Detroit Saturday night. My trip across the border from Windsor was quick and easy. Jack and the band were absolutely on fire and the setlist was a masterpiece. So many highlights but I cant believe I finally got to hear Same Boy You've Always Known live!

If Jack is coming to an area that you can walk, bike, drive, boat or fly to then make it to the show because you will not be disappointed!

PS Every band needs to do the phoneless shows. It makes the whole experience so much better.

Did he sing Same Boy "a capella"?  I've seen him do that and it was amazing.

Yup. Raconteurs were my last show before the pandemic in Toronto and the vibe in the crowd was just different. Everyone is so engaged in the show without the phone to distract them.
