I've had the pleasure of seeing Kings of Leon, My Morning Jacket, Sparta, and Idlewild open for Pearl Jam...

Who is opening for them through their US dates? Gomez would be nice, but they're in Europe.
Later,
Bryce

Green river will be opening for them, lol. Probably some band that's not well known to the average pj fan

Damn right I checked. They did a show with Linkin Park a couple years ago, so you can never expect a good band if a promoter has their head up their ass.

in this case, the promoter would have no control over who PJ would ask to open for them, nor could the promoter tell PJ who should open for them,...

Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

    hey no need to apologize

maybe just my poor attempt at humor

however the question as been asked about 54 times..... who is opening

I would say at this point it might be MJ since it is a question with no answer

    no not always

the longer they wait the more I suspect it will be Ben Harper

Ben and R7 are playing lollapalooza which has strict rules on announcing other shows around the same time as the festival

or maybe they just don't know yet

Get over it already. Yeah, he was truly a talented musician, but on the other gloved hand he was a child molester.
  • You will prob find out the day of the show from this site
or will find out before then on a different site
    hehe
and they will announce the rest of the tour the day before it starts

It would be awesome as hell if Ed opened the show up or if they did a bunch of acoustic songs ala Mansfield 3 2003... wishful thinking.

If it is Ben Harper & R7, I'm happy they're taking their time to announce it. Had they announced it simultaneously, we'd definitely be seeing a pretty significant amount of the venue filled with BH fans, rather than PJ fans. This is the way it should be - a bunch of rabid PJ fans at a show, excited to see a cool opening band.

    Alice in Chains

I've been thinking this for a while, but they are playing a festival in Pomona, CA on 8/22, so it is unlikely that they would fly to Chicago to play for a 2nd and 3rd night in a row.

they did just announce a club tour though.
