I guess Times Square just to say you have actually been there, its just stupidly sized advertising.

Go stand next to the empire state building.

Whenever i go to a city i try to visit the hard rock cafe there, can't remember what stuff is in there but i know jeff's bass is in there, cobain's guitar from the smells like teen spirit video, some pete townshend stuff etc

Just some of the things i fitted in when i saw pj @ msg last year.

Shame on me...YOU SHOULD VISIT THE NEAREST DUNKIN DONUTS WHILE IN NEW YORK. BEST COFFEE IN THE WORLD.

Is Dunkin Donuts as popular in NY as it is in Boston?

Depends on your age. If you're under 21 just stick with the touristy places.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight

Dinosaur BBQ, Greenwich Village and Stawberry Fields in Central Park.
Oh, and don't forget to buy a few bagels. You have to get some of those while you're there.
  • catch a b-way show, visit the old yankee stadium before they tear it down and perhaps get some cheap bleacher seats to the game that day, bronx zoo, any pizza parlor you can find (remember to fold your pizza or people will look at you funny) jacob javit center (if anything cool is going on there) coney island and eat at the original Nathans, um...Rockafeller plaza and watch the today show, Tom's restaurant (the diner that they always eat at in Seinfeld)

as for PJ related things, visit MSG and i know of this small guitar store that Eddie is known to frequent whenever he's in town, it's called Dan's Chelsea Guitars...it's near by MSG.

there are a lot of things to do...those are just some

you can always swing by wall street and the stock exchange as well...last time ran into Ralph Nadar there and got his auto. He was giving a protest speach. I though than band would be proud!

if the weather is nice, you can't beat a walk through central park.

I'm a downtown girl, so I would say wander around the West Village, SoHo, East Village, Little Italy, eat great dim sum in Chinatown. Check out Washington Square Park, walk along the Hudson down the Hudson River Park down to Battery Park. Check out the Highline that just opened (Meatpacking District, but there are crazy lines to get up there on the weekends). Eat a cupcake from Magnolia in the Village (everyone else does), see if you can get into Serendipity on the UES for a frozen hot chocolate, check out the Guggenheim, definitely MoMA (as someone has already said) and the Museum of Natural History is cool too. Jump on the L train and check out Williamsburg.

    Have fun! :D

get a slice at artichoke- 14th street and 1st ave
wo hop (downstairs) in chinatown for really good chinese
definitely check out the west village....its fun to kill a day just walking around and hitting up all of the indie record stores.
slice of brooklyn pizza tour might be fun if you're into pizza and want to learn a little bit about brooklyn.
i'd tell you to spend your drinking time in greenpoint, but you're 16...so scratch that.
if you wanna buy some ames shirts there are a few spots in soho that sell a solid variety.

lots to do, and no offense to anyone posting in this thread that's not from nyc.....but don't listen to them. the touristy shit is overrated and will more likely than not leave you with a negative view of new york. stay far away from times square....its dumb and you don't need to see it.
i have a paper here that entitles me to fast track status
