hey everyone---
my wife & i started a walking team for the ALS Walk on November 15th In Austin. we're doing this walk & raising $ in memory of my Dad, who passed away 4 years ago after a short & intense battle with the disease.
for those of you that are in the area, please join us! and if you aren't in the area & if you can, please make a donation towards the cause. the dollar amount doesn't matter---it's all going to the same place. for the last few years, it has appeared that the ALS Association is on the verge of a major breakthrough, and this may be the year that it happens.
i'll bump this every so often until the day of the walk. i'm not trying to pressure anyone, just merely asking for support from a truly great community. in any case, the link is listed below. you'll have to do a search to find our team page. just search using my name: Matt Cluthe, or the team name: Cluthe's Crusaders. thanks in advance to all of you.
cheers,
Matt

Thanks and all the best to you!

I work at CVS Pharmacy for one of my jobs and we just had over a month long period of accepting donations towards ALS.
I am a cashier and every customer we had we would ask if the customer wanted to donate one dollar towards ALS and many did...we had these little circular pieces of paper the person wrote their name on after making the donation and we hung them up on the walls and doors.
By the end of it, there were many, many donations made so it went quite well.
Yeah---It's awesome that CVS does that. Every cent helps.

kind of. i surpassed my individual goal. but we're still a little less than halfway to our team goal. i think we're going to have about 8-10 people walking for the team. i just need to push my teammates a bit into sending their emails out. i think we'll make it though!

I wish I could have donated more...I know everything helps, but it would have been fun to be able to give a lot :-)
Have you tried for any corporate sponsors? good luck!

Did you see the Jerry Lewis telethon over labor day? The donations could be broken down however you wanted it allocated. I gave to to the ALS fund. I hope they find a cure!

you are welcome.
I remember this movie, Right to Die, where Raquel Welch's character had ALS. So sad.
