If Ben would sign a contract guaranteeing that he would not perform Indifference with PJ during their set, I would be all for this idea.

I wish the guys would just play under a different name instead of using AIC.

Just my opinion...and I haven't heard his new record yet (and I do think Ben Harper is very talented)...but my initial response to this idea is....***BOOOORRRIIINNNGGG***. I'd rather see an up-and-coming/less-established band like TV on the Radio, Band of Horses, It's True, or Why?...but that's just me. I also wouldn't mind seeing Sonic Youth again...new album is GREAT! Ben Harper?....well, I might have been excited about that 10 years ago...

TV on the Radio??? one of the most overrated band i have ever heard, i would actually try to get rid of my tickets if they opened

I was really into Ben Harper years ago but have kinda fallen out of love with him over the past 5+ years, or last couple of albums. I still think it's cool and like some new stuff and the old stuff, but all in all I find him kinda, well, dull now. Don't flame me! I respect him just don't like him as much as I once did.

I agree 100%. I loved Ben in hs, and liked him in college, but ever since his music just kinda bored me. I'm not a huge fan of his vocals and his lyrics always seem kinda trite or cheesy to me.

As far as openers... how about Gaslight Anthem? I recently bought their album and think it's great, and they're new and up and coming and seem to be pretty popular with the fanbase, based on the general fan response to their SOLAT cover.

I think I'm safe in assuming that you've never seen Ben Harper live?? If you have... and still feel this way... My brain simply cannot compute... :(

Ben Harper and Pearl Jam on the same bill would be a dream come true for many... myself included !

  • That would definitely be amazing. I'm going to see Ben Harper and Relentless7 next Thursday night here in Ottawa and I'm really looking forward to seeing them live. The album is great but from what I've heard (and seen in that DVD that came with the deluxe edition), they're even better live.

oh i wouldnt think lolla would be the reason this late into the lolla ticket sales... maybe if it was a ben show, but not when hes the supporting act... still hazy on the contract details of lolla acts though - theres definitely some restrictions like youre talkin about

but yah... im assuming ben in chicago at this point

the rules of Lolla confuse me as well

the beastie boys have announced and sold out a show in the city on 8/6 which is about a week before Lolla.... I believe

in 07 Ben didn't announce an Oct (or Nov :? ) Chicago show until the day after Lolla even though the whole tour had already been announced

i think the beastie boys thing is an official lolla after show... caues the 6th is during the festival... they always have those... but usually dont announce them until... i think they went on sale like 2 weeks ago? so lolla sales are already pretty good

lots of great after shows this year
