who thinks that for the Backspacer tour next year that PJ should not have a opening act !!
I would love to see 2 sets w/ an encore, give a 20 min break between the first and second sets.
more PJ !! less worry about curfew at certain venues and we get a solid 3 hour show.

most of the 11pm curfew venues are amphitheaters. don't think they'll be playing too many of those in october.

Every tour since 2003 they have cut back on the average length of their shows so I doubt this would happen.

  • they definitely have the catalog to do this, and there are still curfews at arenas, get on stage by 8:15- 8:30 doors at 7. most arenas curfew are around 11:30. this works, a lot of bands do this these days especially the bigger well established ones.

How many time have we heard Ed say " we will pay the fine we are just gonna keep playing " I am stating to think that's just his thing to make us fell like our show is the only one that matters. I know this band takes care of us. This would be the one thing that put them way over the top.

10c tickets, Boots , great deals on band merch, 3 hour or more shows.... pricless

I DIS AGREE... their shows from 06 and 08 on average were longer i think... 2003 had some of their longest shows ever... PENN ST... BOSTON 3 MSG but overalll basically most shows in 06 and 08 were on avg prob 2.5 hrs... i wouldnt think the 03 tour avg was that much... maybe it was but not longer i dont think... i know in 08 the boston shows were a little short but that was due to CURFEW 11pm... MSGs bonarro DC All Long shows...

some of those 05 canadian shows... and the philly show were pretty long too... I love the 5 or 6 song 2nd encores!! I think they are pretty consistent as far as stayin around 2 15 - 230 on the avg night if curfew isnt a issue... than you get some Shorter ones... and some Longer ones here and there...

anyways tho... the ED shows this tour have def been a little shorter than they were on the 2nd leg last summer... thought that was a little bizarre to see... good shows tho... Love that he has broke PATRIOT out a few times.... I would imagine the Hawaii shows will ROCK!

    great idea

    but it aint gonna happen

PJ loves touring with other bands and giving them a stage

I never see the openers anyway so it really doesnt matter

they are not gonna start playing three hour shows every night, even if they dropped the openers

Yeah, curfews used to be mainly in amphitheaters so they weren't keeping the neighbors up all night. But now a lot of arenas have them, mainly so the people working the show can go home at a decent time. Lazy asses.....

They have a new record coming out.

Count on it. The only question is if they will make us wait until spring like they did with riot act.

I'm pulling for the pre-opening act acoustic set a la Boston 3 or Ed could just open solo, but instead of pairing with Liam, EJ, or Jerry; he pairs with Mike, Jeff, Stone, Matt, and/or Boom for a song or two each. Then have Liam (officially) open to mix things up a bit and transition from acoustic to electric, followed by 2 sets of full-on PJ. Well my wishlist anyway...

I continue to believe that there will be US tour this fall, including the northeast.
After all, we have to subsidize those southern shows that are allegedly planned ;);)
And I think they will play AUS/NZ after new years, and perhaps Asia in the early spring
I dont mind waiting. I have been lucky enough to see a show every year since 03 and that hartford show last summer can tide me over for awhile.:mrgreen:

me too....hate to ruin such a great streak. ;)
how i WISH they'd hit NY once more this year, would be great.,
i am reading rumors of pj in oz/kiwiland this november.
would be GREAT if they played down under after new years, few more months to save...and also the possibility of hubby getting the time off. i just hope we get a BIG announcement, or at least close together....see where/when they are playing EVERYwhere. would make things so simple. and yes i know, i'm dreaming....;)
