Pearl jam took this lyric from MJ's song Ben, and used it at the end of Rats. :)

    i never knew that!
never a huge mj fan, tho loved the jackson 5....total respect for his genius tho, absolutely.

  • I had an idea regarding the fact that many threads turn into attacks vs. sharing ideas and thoughts respectfully. This board is called "the porch", right? What if we asked that they create one called "the living room"? As a child, we were frequently told to use our "indoor voices"... In the living room, we could carry on respectful, thoughtful, but quiet and polite, conversations :) and the porch could be for those that want to yell with their outside voices or pick a fight :) Just a thought. :D

Most innocent people don't have $20 million to blow.. Maybe it was worth it to him. Petty cash for these people just to leave him alone and be gone.

I don't think he did it, but I could be wrong. I tend to think of child molesters as priests and people you wouldn't expect to do it.. Michael was just too crazy. I really think he thought of himself as a child, and people exploited him for it.

    I like that
So since we are on the porch now
    Shut up and listen

Isn't it a shame that people that become so famous have access to so many drugs by doctors, "pain killers" drugs to help them sleep, drugs to help them stay awake and so on.....
The people that are around them don't seem to care enough to help stop the doctors from giving them so much. They are all so caught up in how much money they can make from them being sedated and controllable that it's ok with them. That really is a shame.

...and even now it's impossible for some on this board to have some respect. Sickening. Makes me ashamed of being a PJ fan. To me I hope he rests in peace. His music will outlive his eccentricities, like it should... Art will survive.

Damn. You just hurt my feelings. Because I take words posted by anonymous people on message boards way too seriously.

And, since we're talking about school and all: Your is a possessive. Your shoe. Your pencil. Your panties in a wad.

The word you're going for is "you're," which is a contraction meaning "you are."

    As in, "you're completely overreacting."

Now now. No one needs to resort to grammar lessons. It's a message board. The proper use is "u r". As in u r both taking this way too seriously.

Michael Jackson -- great singer, completely fucked up human being, now compost (at least the 75% of him that isn't plastic anyway). The world hardly knew ye.

2010? Awww, hell. I thought it was 2012. Was really looking forward to an extra two years. Oh well....

Seriously though. However you view MJ, there is no denying his talent and musical brilliance. While his relevance in the last decade or so certainly waned, the impact he had on the music industry will far outlive his questionable persona. Peace out Michael.
