Concert DVD's

I love coming home from work and putting a concert DVD in, especially if I've had a long stressful day. Pop open a chilled craft brew, kick back and veg out watching some musicians perform...

Tonight I'm watching a favorite of mine - Primus Hallucino-Genics Live 2004 DVD... it's got a great great setlist and the music is really tight and thumping.

Other favs (sans the PJ DVD's which are obvious):

The Who: Live At The Royal Albert Hall
Pink Floyd: Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii
Flaming Lips: UFOs at the Zoo
Dinosaur Jr.: Live in the Middle East
Pavement : Slow Century
The Pixies - Club Date: Live at the Paradise in Boston
My Morning Jacket: Okonokos: The Concert

I have others but these have been the ones I've been watching today...

Anyone else got some to recommend?

The Cure's Trilogy is pretty good and a lot of people don't like em but Coldplay's dvd is really good, too. Ani DiFranco's Trust is also a good one

Their dvd might be better than any given album they've ever done.

    I like:

    NIN- Beside You In Time
    MMJ- Okonokos
Sigur Ros- hell if I know how to spell it
U2- Zoo TV, Live from Slane Castle
    Talking Heads- Stop Making Sense

Wilco - Ashes of American Flags

It's everything a concert DVD should be.

Ive been watching a lot of Foo Fighters Skin and Bones. It's very laid back (acoustic), but with very energetic moments. I'm not a huge fan of Foo Fighters rock shows, but this acoustic dvd is sick. I've watched it a few hundred times.

Also, there is a dvd compilation series called "Burn to Shine". Eddie is on the Seattle version doing Cant Keep with the uke, but all the different volumes are great, especially if you want to hear something different.

The Buckley dvd is brilliant. My favorite to watch is The Band's Last Waltz. The Doors Hollywood Bowl performance is fun too watch as well.

Totally agree with the sentiment of the OP. Some good beers or wine, maybe a little smoke, pop in a good show, and "our troubles are over".

RORY GALLAGHER IRISH TOUR is fucking AWESOME.
You don't get the flow of a concert, but this is probably Rory's best era, and definately his best band line-up.
Everyone on here, go buy this dvd, or if you're unemployed and broke, hit the torrent sites.
Awesome to know a fellow PJ fan is also a fellow Rory fan, so let's create some more.

    RORY GALLAGHER............YES !!!!!!!!!!!

Also fucking awesome are the DVD's RORY GALLAGHER THE COMPLETE ROCKPALAST COLLECTION -5 concerts and 2 jam sessions- and RORY GALLAGHER LIVE AT MONTREUX -5 (part of) shows and extra bonus tracks.
Shows from 1976 - 1994 (year before he died).

For long time Rory fans but also for who are not so familiar with his work.

Yeah those are great too, I especially like the first disk of the Montreux set.
Looks like you're from the Netherlands. Rory's totally more appreciated in Europe, right?
That's my impression anyway. He so rarely gets mentioned here in the US, not even in guitar magazines.
Damn, we should just makes this a Rory thread

    Yeah, I love that one.

Since I am a big Who fan (duh) I like to watch their DVDs, especially:
The RAH concert Shows from the 2006-07 tour VH1 Rock Honors Coliseum show December 1969 (bonus disc with Live at Kilburn DVD, a new fave of mine) Live in Chicago 1979 (bonus disc with Amazing Journey) The Who's performance during The Concert for NYC (the only part I watch)

It's not your typical concert but I'm enjoying my new Ultimate Collector's Edition of Woodstock: The Director's Cut. You have to buy it at Target  to get all of the bonus cuts and they seem to be just about sold out now. I really didn't care about getting the collector version so much as getting to see The Who perform Sparks and Jimi Hendrix play Spanish Castle Magic. Lots of other great stuff to see if you just buy the "regular" Director's Cut. I think my fave is Johnny Winter doing Mean Town Blues, just about blows me away.

Led Zeppelin - DVD would be pretty much top of my list of music dvd's. 5 and a half hours of footage of Zep covering 1969 up to the Knebworth 1979 gigs. Incredible stuff
