Agreed. It SUCKS, but these posters only cost $50 and $60 respectably, and if you missed out and someone else has one for sale, lucky you. Really, you arent paying $300 like some prints...you MAY be paying double, but who cares? I pay alot of $ for shit I want, and I am glad the stuff has value...which is determined by supply and demand. If these were not worth anything, would we all have paid $50 or 60 for them????
I personally wish they wouldn't keep expanding the print runs...I also like to have these posters appreciate in value. Unfortunately, that rarely happens these days. Most of the 2008 PJ posters can be had for less than face value...even the value of the MSG has dropped significantly. I guess it's the bad economy combined w/ the sheer number they are printing.
I expect these APs will settle in around the $75 mark, esp. the Rocket. But when you take into account the original cost ($68), then fees from both paypal and ebay, there is no money to be made. The plus side to the recent drop in value is that fewer people buy them to flip, and everyone who wants one can get one. I have no problem w/ that. I buy them primarily for sentiment, and only buy the ones for shows I've been to...
Well, the 182 was specific to the Big Business poster...I am PRETTY SURE the EV posters are #d/ 100...
ah! it's a partners in crime type of flipping business. i see!
D, this isn't NEARLY as bad as markups on EMEK and Fairey prints, those go for $300+ instantly...Personally, I would happily pay $150 to get one of these if I didn't get them from Brad...but I did, so...
I am actually surprised Brad hasn't popped up here yet to comment. he usually does on release days...I just wanna know the print run on the EV posters...All the others in my collection are 100 from Brad, I can't see raising it now...

I view this one much like the batmobile poster form the last mini tour ... and if value preservation is your thing ... note that ...
1) only 4 of those A/Ps have been sold
2) the last one sold for $150
that said ... enjoy the print, drop the poster 401k plan ...
This thought comes to mind... How much was the Into The Wild vinyl through 10C??? Does anyone want to give it to me for cost for reasons of "not being a flipper" ???

hahaha...good point...there are plenty of people who get angry at the poster flippers, but don't see selling the ITW for $200+ as flipping...I guess you gotta draw the line somewhere, though...nobody gets mad at a grocery store for buying a can of beans for .50 and then "flipping" them for .75.

there's a difference though, between selling something that has appreciated in value and "flipping". it's a fine line sometimes, but it's there.
Well dam it I had to take the wife to the doctors and thought I would have had plenty of time but looks like I was late for the sale, I am going to the maui show and I really wanted either or both of these posters so if anybody wants sell one at a resonable price or wants me to pick up something up for them at the show please PM me as I wanted a signed one to frame.

With the Maui show being later in the tour they will likely have both for sale at the show and plenty of them I would assume.
Picked up both EVel rocket and the blue this afternoon - pumped it went so smooth....question for you all....
I remember hearing some discussion last year about the Klausen Eddie Chicago being signed by both Brad and Ed. I didn't purchase an A/P but was that ever confirmed for the once sold through Brad? I was curious, given Brad's email it sounded like Ed was pretty involved in the design of these, maybe he would sign? probably a long shot...but I can hope right????
Don't worry if you did not score there are ALREADY three expressobeans members willing to trade or sell their EV posters!
i consider this theft from the artist... hijacking on sales for profit... it is one thing to have a print that has appreciated in value... but this is disgusting, considering that there are many who would have truly loved to have these prints for the sake of having them, not for making a dime off of someone else's art.
I concur.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

Thanks for confirming re the Chicago print. I still am holding out hope for an Ed sig although agree, its a long shot.
Not sure where the ebay flipper got 182 as the run, but omgposters.com indicated the big business was a run of 182, but nothing on the EV prints. I would expect 100 for each.

The thing about the Chicago print was that Ed did most of the art himself. If you look at the print, Ed has top billing, then Brad. It makes sense for him to sign that one. On the others from the 08 tour (Batmobile etc) Ed has 2nd billing, and did not sign those, even though he had a hand in designing them. Since he has 2nd (and 3rd) billing on these, I wouldn't expect Ed to sign them.

I doubt it. Danny Clinch took the photo for the first blue EV poster and it wasn't signed by him.
His name will be printed at the bottom but not signed.
word
the picture for the blue one was taken by Liam Flinn
and I suspect these are bigger run than 100, if it was only 100 it would have sold out faster
especially with people buying more than one
however I would expect a refund for one of them if you did

All 4 of the non-Chicago prints from the previous tours (2 for April Fool's West Coast and 2 for '08 East Coast) had A/P runs of 100 ... I'm guessing this will as well. But, we'll know for sure soon enough.

Yeah, I hear ya. Was more wishful thinking than anything, hearing about Ed's love for Evil Keneivel.
I'm a little late but got mine at 4:03 pm yesterday!! Bought the EV rocket but passed on the blue one as I could only afford 1.

Sorry my bad on both accounts....
only scanned the thread since there was 8 pages to read
and the well the "l" slipped in there, even checked the spelling but I guess my mind wants to type what it wants
I'll probably pick up the rocket at the discount price via 10C... $50 - $60 bucks for the AP's seems a little steep.. To each his own though
