Return of the B-Side?

Where oh where did the b-sides go?
Yield had a few. Binaural had none. Riot Act had 3 or so... ST had none. Do you think that we will get some b-sides with this release? Songs that just didn't fit the album, but will be fit for us to hear? Just a thought...

A single with a b-side is like an appetizer at a restaurant. It fills you up a little bit, but doesn't spoil the main dish.
I was kinda bummed when WWS had a b-side that was an album track.
I hear you on that one! Remember buying "Not for You" back then and you had "Out of my Mind" on it!!!! Since Riot Act, nothing :(

Really hope we do get some cool oddities
I beg to differ. With the state of the industry now, there's no reason to release a b-side, you can buy the actual single itself for $1 on itunes, so unless you're a hardcore fan, there's no reason to buy an actual single. And those hardcore fans will buy anything anyway, so it doesn't matter.
Leatherman, Dead Man, Other Side, Yellow Ledbetter, Down, U, Undone, Alone, Footsteps, Out of My Mind, and Dirty Frank is all I can think of in terms of original songs.......
PJ has more solid b-sides than any modern group I can think of outside maybe Oasis.

True, but those were songs that were in the original track listing to the album... Also, they were not released until lost dogs. I am thinking more in terms of B-Sides released with singles.
It's like the analogy I used earlier about a single being an appetizer for an album... You want to get a little taste of something good, but not ruin your meal.
I used to go out of my way to get Singles on vinyl and cd for the extra content. Riot act was the last album to release extra content with the sings. Yield was the one before that.
Greatsongs I can think of:
otherside, down, undone, u, leatherman were the only 5 unreleased b-sides off of the last 4 albums... to be released with singles
UK band Stereophonics have released something like 38 b-sides over their 10 - 12 year career. Last count including soundtracks, compilations etc.. they have released 47 non-album tracks.
Sydney: November 21 2024, November 23 2024
I don't think S/T is part of that. The re-releases are only going to be for the albums under the original sony contract from what i've heard. But I remember reading that 20-something songs were recorded for the last album, so there should be plenty of stuff for a Lost Dogs II or whatever eventually.
those aren't b-sides those are outtakes... there's a difference.
Gotta agree here... in this digital age the b-side has turned into the "bonus track"... so I won't be surprised at all if itunes has 3-4 extra tracks to put out with Backspacer... And maybe there will be a 2nd CD with those tracks on it... for the audiophiles. Wishful thinking.
