during arc he stopped abruptly. the lights were off and he wasnt singing it was a recording. i think he felt guilty or something and went to the next song.. couldnt remember the words and got up and said godnight like he was gonna storm off stage but then finished and left quickly. justseemed like something was up i dont know ive seen pj many times and that was very out of character for eddie vedder.

I ended up going to the emergency room with my wife at about 7pm tonight. She was having chest pain which is a huge concern for a 25 year-old runner. Thankfully she's fine and we're home. We'll give it a go again tomorrow night but this setlist isn't helping. One of her all time favorite songs is I am a Patriot. Rough night.

a recording or was he looping as usual? you know thats how he layers all those vocals right? he usually gets it to about 10 layers and then just kindof sits back and lets it play out... dont mean to tell you something you already know... but this "freak out" sounds confusing to me... atleast until we get more details...

Great show tonight- someone screamed out for him to play Gone so he played around a little trying to remember how and then asked for the crowds help to remember the words, very intimate.
Arc was weird- it did sound a little off as he started it, and then just told the sound guy to cut it. Two encores was sweet. Crowd was ok, didnt get the hint when he was telling them to shut up. New song was good but didnt feel like a PJ album song. After he played Drifting he said something about playing TWO more Christmas songs but only played Santa Cruz, wonder what the other one he was gonna play-unless Im not remember that one of the other songs he played was a single.

It was a great show. He didn't like the way Arc sounded so he cut it off. Either the looping wasn't good or he lost where he was in the song. It was cool to see him in a smaller venue mostly acoustic.

Just got back from the show (only 5 minutes down the road from our house!) and ended up with 2nd row tickets from TenClub! The show was great, Eddie seemed to really like the venue (which was really nice) and the fact he got to play in an 'opera house'. He seemed to be in good spirits, but was getting a little annoyed at some "drunk assholes" that kept yelling random things and stopped giving them attention. Some songs were played excellently, others with some hiccups, but understandable since he probably rarely plays them. Someone yelled out for him to play Gone, which it doesn't seem he was going to, and needed a minute to get it down before he started playing it, but he asked and got help from the crowd to sing along. Arc was a little disappointment that he didn't finish it, but said he 'didn't want to fake it'. It was great hearing songs that are rarely or never played live. We got to move up and lean on the stage for Hard Sun and we got to slap his hand as he ran along the front! Overall a great show and it'd be awesome to have a copy of it (please 10C!).

well he loops arc over and over and over until it is a series of "recordings" of him.

Gone was very cool because it was a request. Eddie tells everyone not to call out during the show, but then he goes ahead and plays one of them anyway. I was sitting in a box seat next to the lighting technician, so I could see the whole setlist and Gone was definitely not on the list. It was awesome the way the crowd helped him through it. Society was very cool too because Jerry Hannan who wrote the song just happened to be in Baltimore and sang it with Ed. Ed had an absolutely perfect and flawless set (no mistakes on Guaranteed or any other song) but had some trouble in the encore with Arc and I Am a Patriot, and then some guitar problems on Hard Sun which he seemed a bit upset about. His voice also cracked a lot on the new song. He added some extra songs in the encore that were not on the setlist. I think he did this to make up for Arc. It was a great show overall and well worth it.
  • You guys are truly lucky to experience such an amazing setlist. Santa Cruz must have been amazing.

I want to thank Eddie and his crew for the front row upgrade. Golden State, Gone, Santa Cruz and I am a Patriot were incredible. Ed handed my wife a pick which was awesome. Wasn't feeling Arc so it was cut short but all in all it was the best time ever at a show.

Just got home- great night, Great setlist. There was some yelling from the crowd, and Ed put them in their place and had fun with it. he seemed to be in a really good mood. He was pretty talkative. It was funny, the two guys in the row in front of me got kicked out right after Liam ended, they looked like the were tripping on acid or something.
Let See, Gone was great, took Ed a while to get it going and had to stop a few times, and the crowd sang a lot of it. Rise was dedicated to Phil Jackson after some people were yelling out about the Lakers. Ed said right after driftin that he may play 1 or 2 more Christmas single songs.
    Society was great with Jerry.
Golden State was amazing. As was Santa Cruz
I really like the new song now that I got a better listen to it, its a sad song.
You could tell something was off on ARC right from the start, either the mics were not set up right or the machine was not set up right. But as soon as he started to sing it and loop it, it was off. patriot was played to make up for it. He did seem annoyed that Arc was messed up. He got fired up when he had guitar problems during hard sun too.

Great show- can't wait till tomorrow night. I hoped everyone did not think I was screwing around when I was sending over some of those songs.

11th row thanks to the 10Club! Center!

Amazing show but a strange vibe, due in part to the raucous nature of the crowd. Quite different than DC, NY and NJ shows from last year. This crowd seemed rowdier and unfortunately crasser than last years. They did not heed Eddie's wishes and continually interrupted him, leaving him a bit unnerved. As a Baltimore native I was embarrassed by my hometown's rude behavior, particularly in light of how few times EV or PJ have been to our town.

The problems seemed to accelerate during PJ's new song. It looked like a very complicated song to play. He grew increasingly frustrated during transitions. His rhythm appeared lost. He looked agitated, frustrated and weary at the end of the song, which in our opinion led to the ARC incident. He tried to regain his composure but unruly behavior and equipment failure during Hard Sun worked against him, ending the show on a downer note.

I hope Bmore can get her act together tomorrow, show some class and make it a special evening.

    Enjoy!
  • i got the chance to see him solo last year in d at the warner theater and then again tonight. was really surprised how many more PJ songs he played tonight given how many covers and non-PJ stuff he did last year. and then especially thrilled that they were such rarities. it really was as good as the setlist makes it seem. santa cruz was great, as was golden state. i think his figuring out as he went along how to play gone was just the absolute best moment though. really just felt like we could have been sitting in someone's basement with him just messing around on guitar while the rest of us sang along. arc was definitely a little off but still sounded just as powerful as ever when he cut it. would have liked him to just finish, but definitely appreciate that he wanted to cut it if he didn't feel he was doing the song justice given it's meaning. all-in-all i feel so lucky to have experienced this one. wish i could go again tomorrow night.

    It was a loop...not a recording.

Ed started the looping for Arc like he does. About 30 seconds into it he stopped and told them to turn the lights back on. He said he just wasn't feeling it and would rather move on than fake it. He apologized about 3 times.

    oh well

Wow, just wow. Thank you much 10C for the absolutely incredible tickets to go along with this utterly amazing show. I'm floored at the moment; was in the 4th row - dead center to Eddie. Quite amazing indeed. Gone was a definitely highlight. I can't remember much about the "new song" other than it sounding almost sad, but an excellent sounding tune at that. It was really cool to hear Santa Cruz as well, oh and I Am Mine was killer along with Porch to end the first set!!

Ah, too much right now, I have to be at work in about 5 hours so I need to crash. Good crowd too, by the way except for a few assholes - but that's to be expected in Baltimore. Honestly, I was expecting worse. Glad everyone else had a great time. And yes to those who didn't see the show, the setlist was definitely as good as it looks. Eddies voice was spot on the entire night too - excellent work.

By the way, did anyone get a chance to snap any pics or take any videos?? It was tough to take anything good with all the dickheaded security. Share the pics/videos if you do!!!
