i'm really really pleased about this... brilliant!!

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -
can someone point me in the direction of the essential Gomez album??0

the 1st two are always good... just listen to them on Spotify... rather than buy all their albums. 8-)oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -
I don't think I know even one Gomez song :roll:0

Not overly impressed with this to be honest, but as long as they give it a good go then thats all that matters.
Dammnit why did Kings of Leon have to explode and become huge in their own right -would have loved to see them support again and break out a bit of Slow Night, So Long with Eddie Mr Tambourine Man.
Oh well...0 -
Seen Gomez a good few times and they're excellent live...this is the best support I'll have seen with PJ (any other shows the supports has been pretty shit (bar idlewild)...hope I'll be able to drag meself out of the bar to watch
Mrs Al loves Gomez...so its a happy household 8-) I need a coffee!0 -
My mate used to live next door to one of the bandmembers in Southport.
I'm not a big fan of theirs to be honest.Nil Satis Nisi Optimum0 -

Definitely 'Bring It On' and 'Liquid Skin'. Their second last album 'How We Operate' was a clear return to form for the boys. I have the new album but have not given it a good listen yet. They had a few albums in the middle where they experimented around a litte with electronica etc which I still enjoy but those 3 albums are super. But that's just my opinion. You don't win the Mercury Music Prize with your first album unless you a packing something special so go straight to 'Bring It On'. In reflection, some Albums have a cetain time/place feeling to them so it may not resonate as well these days if you are just getting into them but go ahead for sure and broaden your musical horizons. Love me a bit of 'Mez.0 -

Very nicely written song and great live. I couldn't find the full Bonnaroo version from a few years
back, but they absolutely killed it that day.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me...0 -

Wow, good to see I was on the money with this. Please drag them to Toronto with you guys - and for those who haven't heard Gomez - check out any of their work - but I think their most accessible is their first album - Bring It On.
EDIT - Whoa, someone would rather Kings of Leon? Jeez - lets just get the Boss if we're going that route, not cheap hacks.0 -
yep, thats true,i suppose if i was a rolling stones fan i wouldnt care for the support too..last year travel from greece to new york, and i have to see in the ticket the name of ted leo to remember them,,this year i go for all 4 european concert,,,i really dont care if was maria callas do the opening..dunkman wrote:dimitrispearljam wrote:

I can understand why someone would not be overly impressed if they aren't that familiar with bands full catalog. They've released 6 albums and a few b-sides albums as well. I find some of their best work to be the b-sides. It hsould be noted that they technically have 3 lead singers.
I rated the albums below with songs i love in case someone is looking to check them out:
1. In Our Gun - Miles End, Even Song, In Our Gun, Ruff Stuff, Sound of Sounds
2. Bring It On - Love is Better Than a Warm Trombone, Tijuana Lady, Get Myself Arrested, Free to Run, Get Miles
3. A New Tide - Mix, Little Pieces, If I Ask You Nicely, Very Strange, Natural Reaction
4. How We Operate - How We Operate, All Too Much, See the World, Notice, Chasing Ghosts with Alcohol
5. Liquid Skin - We Haven't Turned Around, Rosalie, Revolutionary Kind, R & B Alibi, Hangover
6. Split the Difference - Catch Me Up, Do One, Sweet Virginia
B-Sides - Buena Vista, Flavors, Pick Up the Pieces, Flight, Best In Town, Blind, Dire Tribe“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”0 -
