the thing that matters is all the stuff on the b-sides

it never made any sense to release a-sides

thats more like record company ideas

True, we got the singles on RVM
  • OK! I went back to HMV a couple of minutes ago. After spending 10min with a guy who didn't understand shit, I asked a girl about list of products coming out in the next month. Again, she told me there is something from Pearl Jam coming on March 4 . She had no description at all. It was on the coming release page of their internal "website" titled :

    Pearl Jam (Deluxe)

I have no idea what it's gonna be....as it could be anything! Hopefully it won't be the Avocado booklet version we got from the 10C...that would suck!

Now there's some good deductive reasoning!

Could be! But why would it be noted as Pearl Jam? Pearl Jam has nothing to do with the movie......except that Ed did the soundtrack......!

Maybe they just put anything Ed does under "Pearl Jam" I've seen that before with bands and solo artists they will sometimes file the solo artist in with the whole group!

Ya but he just did the music, I don't think they would put the Into The Wild MOVIE under that category...
    Stone Gossard...riffmeister extraordinaire!

I am a man, I am advanced.....I am the first man to borrow Stone's leather pants!

I've worked in a music shop and they all do something different. I can see why they would do it even if it doesn't make sense technically.

then not to sound rude (and i'm not trying to) but you know nothing about the record industry (i.e. parlaphone releasing all of radioheads albums as a boxset).

sony owns the masters but cannot put them out with pj approval. there have been many proposals to the band but they are not going for any of them. the band has gone back to sony with offers to buy back the catalog and that is where they stand right now. whatever way it goes, i think that we will see re-releases of much of the catalog including unplugged (where a separate deal would need to be done with mtv). the deals need to get worked first.

so regarding the singles box, it was on schedule and now it is not.

I don't know you, but that sounds like convincing info. I take it you work for Sony (or are close with someone who does).

It would be nice to see Unplugged released on a dvd format with a 5.1 mix.
