One word: unbelievable. Thanks 10C, I had second row, but basically first because there wasn't a seat in front of me. He had a revised version of Albany, with references to the Hudson's shit and piss. Loved Parting Ways; used a Rickenbacker that I have never seen him play before. Ed's bodyguard let me and my sister up to the front for after Arc. Got to give five to Ed. Nice variation of setlist. Other highlights for me were Trouble and Picture in a Frame.

Another Amazing night in Albany. I liked the cover songs tonight and the Albany song remix. Ed's voice was absolutely amazing, the best i have ever heard him. 'Throw your Arms around me' and 'Dont be shy' were my favorite covers of the night. Ed can do no wrong...even when he messes up. Don't know what it is but he's a icon.

Just got home. I liked tonight's show but last night was a better night.(IMO) Way to many meatheads at the show tonight. However, the poster for tonight is sweet. Growin Up was a real highlight tonight. It was a nice couple of days in my hometown. Thanks 10c for everything that you all do.

Seemed to be a lot more really really drunk people at tonight's show. It's too bad but not surprising. Ten Club seats 14 rows back center were great! Sat in the balcony last night so it was nice to have both experiences. Great variety in the set list and Eddie was fantastic!! Thanks 10C!!!

Just back to the room! The 'unknown' song listed above after Growing Up was also Springsteen - Open All Night from Nebraska. Nice job Ed! Fabulous show as always.

What a gift! This was truly one of the best shows I have ever been to. He doesn't have to tour solo, but he does because I think he knows how much some of us need it.

It probably doesn't apply to anyone on this board but if you go to a future show, please appreciate the difference between a high energy arena show and the intimacy of a show like this. I know it's not the symphony but I could have done without the background BS. For fsakes he knows his name!

However-there is no rush like rushing the stage for the encore...I hope you are enjoying your drinks Ed!

That's like my most fave Bruce song! In grade 11 english we studied that album and had to write an essay about each song...I was maybe 15/16...And then to hear Ed sing it!! Oh, I would have died!

Nice setlist! I'm getting psyched for Baltimore 2. :)

  • Just got home! All I can say is Wow! I was 30 something rows back but that did not stop me from feeling the awe inspiring personal engagement with each song, with each screw up, with each pause to take a sip of his drink. I loved every minute of it and the setlist was fantastic. It was great to meet all of you finally as well over at Jillian's beforehand.

Yes sir (or ma'am) that is what I did say! Nebraska is one of my favorite albums also and I bought it the day it came out in 1982. Just couldn't believe I was hearing it - he said he wasn't sure if he should play it, said he might make some mistakes, not a one did he make on this one. He got the guitar chord progression going, and stayed right on track the whole song. It was awesome!

SO glad I went... I had no idea I would be seeing EV last night until basically the last minute. I scored some good tix for only 50 bux thanks to another fan here.

First off, I sort of met Eddie on theside of the building during Liam. He came out of his bus and his security guard told us Eddies gonna talk to you guys for a minute. He almost shook my hand but he acknowledged me and said peace. There were people waiting for awhile probably to see him and I sort of walked into it unexpectedly, so its cool that I didnt get a handshake

The show was awesome. I cracked up every time he messed up (which was alot). His Albany song was HILARIOUS with the paddling thru shit and piss part. Trouble, Hide your love, Society, WIshlist, and probably a bunch more that I cant remember were my highlights. There were alot of drunk people there but oh well. I REALLY wanted to yell out to the guy yelling "drop the leash" every 5 minutes, "hes not gonna drop the fuckin leash!!!!" but I didnt.

  • What a night!!!!! My wife and I had the time of our lives, it was truly incredible. Both nights in Albany were awesome but last night had some killer covers that I was dying to see - Growin' Up and Throw Your Arms Around Me, especially!! Plus great band songs, Wishlist, Sometimes, and Parting Ways - the last of which I never expected to hear. My wife loves Wishlist so she was in heaven when he busted that one out, and I've been raving about the Throw Your Arms cover all week, telling her I hoped we'd hear it, as she'd never heard it before. We were practically moved to tears by that one. Great job by Ed and Liam - I thought their voices went well together.

Yes, there were some crazy howlers last night - seemed like more than the first night in Albany. But Ed handled it really well. I also loved hearing him talk about his chat with his mom and how she said she has distant relatives from this area - I grew up in Schenectady County so I loved hearing Ed mention Schenectady as one of those places he had relatives from!!

The encore was incredible - just the rush of emotion from being so close to the stage after we all sorta bum rushed it. I was worried about that but it proved no problem at all - we just sorta scampered up to the stage along with everyone else! We got about 5 feet from the stage, so 5 feet from Ed, when he made his way over to our side and waved and slapped high fives with folks. It was a very special night. I'd never seen Ed solo before these shows in Albany and I have to say that as much as PJ concerts have meant to me over the years, these two night might rank at the top of my concert going list. Incredible. Thank you, Ed.

Open all Night was sick especially since he seemed to just wing it. Also, Picture in a Frame was great.

  • I know it sucks for the people looking for descriptions but it really was beyond words. don't be shy and throw your arms around me? really? I'm pretty sure that was my short list of must hears!!! growin' up and picture in a frame... wasn't familiar (and sorry for that), but am now... now I'm prolly gonna go get that bruce album everone's talkin about!

~25 rows back, to the right a tad. i'm not complainin' one bit. crowd was much louder than I remembered N1 being... whatever. I had a blast. Thanks EV, Thanks Albany EV thread folks for the pre-party... and the Cal, Bugs, and the crew for chillin after.

    have a good one ya'll.

great show last night... it's funny compared to my last ed solo show in boston i thought that the crowd was kind of tame

yet a bunch of you are saying the crowd was much louder than night 1? odd

that springsteen song was awesome... ed prefaced it by saying he was doing something he shouldn't be... i thought we were going to get something off the new album ;)

re: crowd. obviously just my opinion... and N1 i was in the balcony... so maybe that's part of the diff? I don't think the crowd was out of control (again IMO), but louder relative to N1. I felt that night one was very relaxed and mellow until later in the second half. Up in the balcony for N1, I don't remember anyone standing up during porch ... tho i'm sure there were a few. (please don't make that comment digress into a virtues of standing during porch vs. not standing at an EV solo to piss off the others etc.etc.)

All in all an excellent show.

I enjoyed the first night, it was great, but last night's performance was pure heaven. The setlist made the night, and I couldn't believe he played what I was ultimately really hoping to hear...Don't Be Shy, not to mention the double dose of Cat Stevens with Trouble just before it! And to top it all off, Throw your Arms around Me duet with Liam was out of this world. I was just really impressed, and the fuckups didn't bother me like they did the first night, not at all.

Ran down to the stage at the end of Arc, like so many people were and was standing next to the two men in wheelchairs, who got personal interaction with Ed. It was just a really warm fuzzy feeling, even though he didn't see me although I reached out to touch his arm. The look on one of the guys in the wheelchairs who received the setlist from the stagehand was pure awe. It was wonderful to see. Now I don't know which show was better, Montreal 1 or Albany 2. Both were just incredible.

Ed did come out to greet fans while we stood and waited at the barricades after the show for over an hour and a half, and everyone got a handshake! He was very happy and thankful for our patience with his errors during the night and that the crowd was so cool while he talked to us. It was great energy from him.

And it was great to meet everyone at the pre-party fundraisers both days!! I met some really great people and hope to keep contact with many of you! :D:D

Not gonna lie, I was kinda piss drunk at this show so I don't remember too much...

I sobered up later on though. Then my buddy and I, along with a dozen or so people waited for ED after the show.
Ed stopped by had a few quick chats and shook the fans' hands, including me.

EDDIE VEDDER SHOOK MY HAND!! The greatest day of my life :D
