In addition we heard the rumor of Pearl Jam being there on this board...anyone hear anything else?

Yeah- but sometimes it isn't, and right now there is nothing booked at Shoreline for either the 17/18 or 24/25 of October.

    If I were a betting woman (which I am) I'd go 24/25. ;)

Well if you know you'll be there anyway, not to worry. I just wouldn't book any Bridge-specific travel plans until Neil gives the go ahead for the announcement.
Because we ALL KNOW (or should know) that if Uncle Neil gets cranky and decides not to have a Bridge, all bets are off.
Neil has to give the green light for the announcement, first he gets his Farm Aid line up all set, and Bridge follows pretty soon after that. Give it another 2-3 wks.

No, what I will do is postpone making the conference travel plans until this rumor is confirmed or denied...thanks riff!

Neil has never cancelled Bridge School. He's been putting together these shows for 21 straight years. I hardly think he'll cancel this years because he's felling "cranky". Neil founded the Bridge School because of his own son. It's a pretty big deal to him and Pegi. Not to mention it's a HUGE fundraiser for the school. No way Neil would decide to cancel Bridge. Not to mention they're are hundreds of artists who would love to play Bridge if asked by Neil. These shows will continue as long as Neil is alive and able to perform.

Dude- Pegi founded the Bridge School. Neil did not. And it has not been 21 straight years, there has been a year without the Bridge.
If you think there won't come a year when there's no more Bridge School benefits, you don't know Neil very well.

Don't want to argue, I know everyone loves Bridge. But until there's an announcement *from Neil*, nothing is set in stone, much as we would all like for it to be.

    Trust me. ;)

Ok, so there wasn't a show in 87, but there has been one for 20 straight years since. Why do you think after 20 years Neil would suddenly stop? Do you have inside info or something? Aside from health related issues I can't imagine a reason why Neil wouldn't put on these shows. Like I said before the shows bring in huge revenue for the school. Plus the shows have gotten the school international recognition. Without these shows the school wouldn't have ever gotten off the ground.

It seems like the last three years the day of sunday's show one of the local sf, san jose papers always says that it very well may be the last of the bridge schools. never remember reading that during bsb 13-17. so until i hear something from neil himself i wont get to excited. i do have the last two weekends of october saved for vacation to the bay area tho.
I’ve seen Pearl Jam 25 times, Eddie Vedder 9 times, and Brad once.

Yeah but the same Pearl Jam member told another fan a week ago at the Flight to Mars show that they were no longer playing Bridge, so now who knows? :(

but Wilco doesn't begin touring with him until Nov 29, so I don't know if they'll be at Bridge... people may have gotten Wilco touring with him mixed up with Bridge...
