What a difference between Jimbo and Urban Meyer! Totally different personalities - but both really SMART.

I would imagine they have Jimbo tied into a contract, I just didn't know whether the contract called for him to be Head Coach, I mean the REAL Head Coach. But I guess if other schools are trying to get him, they could buy his current contract out. I don't know if I can stand 3 more years of seeing Bobby act like he's coaching. I mean, I love the guy, but his day is done. I really like Jimbo. He needs to stick around.
yeah, I'm almost 100% that it's for head coach
And I agree. I love St. Bobby- I actually live walking distance from his house- everyone in Tally knows where he lives But I agree, it's time for a change. Jimbo's really going to do well once he takes over

Well, we'll all have to check in with each other during football season to chew things over. I can't freakin wait!!
When I had Direct TV, I could see FSU play every week. I have Time Warner Cable now and they'll probably charge me some outrageous amount of money to get ACC Football, if I can get it at all.

I go back and forth about Bowden staying or leaving; but I really like Jimbo and can't wait until he takes over (he pretty much runs the show now).
I think 2010 is FSU's yr. This years schedule will be tough, but with another yr under their belts and not many leaving early for the nfl we should be great in '10.
anyone have espn insider to read the article? I'm curious as to what it says.. espn front page
It certainly can't be good because FSU football sucks.
Hey pjsyco, you don't even HAVE a football team in Wilmington do you? If you do, must play in Division II.
Actually, I went to Georgia. Think we kicked yall's ass in the Sugar Bowl a couple of years back......Actually I know we kicked yall's ass. :P Go DAWGS!!
Hope you're right. '09 should be pretty interesting though. I'm waiting to see how Ponder comes along, I think he's got a lot of talent. If the line protects him and he gets confident - look out. We may start seeing some games like in the old days......
'98 was an AWESOME year!

No, not everything. I don't think Richt has started cheating yet.
I was actually born in Tallahassee and my great, great, great grandfather, Francis Eppes founded FSU. He was the grandson of Thomas Jefferson, making me the great, great whatever grandson of Thomas Jefferson. True story.
talman gardner dropped that sure TD down the right sideline - i can picture it now. would have changed the game around.
Yeah, that was something. Boldin is one gifted athlete.

I see your in Austin. Ever get back to Tally?
I haven't been back since '01.
I try and get to all of the Northern games - Maryland, BC...
Unfortunately, I haven't been back in ages - I'm talking like 15 years or so. I lived in Seattle for four years which is why I was curious if you were out there. I absolutely loved it, but the lack of sunlight did me in. I'm originally from Miami.
Glad you're not a Terp!! But I bet you take a lot of heat when FSU plays at their place. Their fans look sorta rabid

I was thinking of the games when Rix was QB. They hated him big time. I forgot about last year
That WAS one helluva game. Rolle was walking on air.

Rix is a great announcer now though on TV
I actually liked Rix- he just made a few (okay many) bad decisions. I could be way off here, but I think we were playing Notre Dame YEARS ago- Rix might had been a junior or something then- he came in relief after we were losing, threw a bomb in the air- connected for a TD, then looked over at the students section, pumped his chest and took off running down the field- it was classic!!!!

Yeah, he was pretty tough. I saw him get the livin crap knocked out of him at one of the Miami games (in Miami) and he just bounced up, called a play and moved the team on down the field. I thought he was seriously injured by the hit he took but he got right back up. If he was hurt, and he should have been, he never let on.
He announces for FSU? What happened to Gene Deckerhoff or whatever his name is?

No, not FSU- it's for like Fox Sports or something- I'm pretty sure it's only on the radio

whoever wrote this article is using the worst analogy ever. On one hand you have pearl jam, a band that makes people think, encourages education, and generally is a good thing. On the other hand is FSU football, an 'institution' that has 'graduated' individuals that can't read (Dexter Manley), is currently being investigated for a mass cheating 'issue' that could force them to forfeit games, and is just generally considered the toilet bowl of education.
