Eddie after party in Philly

The Black Sheep bar and restaurant has agreed to host the Eddie Vedder after (and before) party both Thursday and Friday nights. Located at 17th and Locust at Rittenhouse Square it is central to all concert goers and they welcome all charity events.     The guys at Black Sheep are being tremendously cool about this. If someone with experience in PJ charity events contacts me, we can make this work. I hope that we can all get something together in such short notice. This is a great bar with cool people... I hope someone can help me make this happen with such short notice.

    Just be careful if you're driving from Rittenhouse to Upper Darby...especially on Friday. Traffic is a nightmare from 4-7

    Nice. I used to go to the Black Sheep all the time and play darts when my a couple of my friends used to live on Rittenhouse.

    I cant do anything for Thursday as I wont be arriving to the show until 7ish or so. As for a Friday pre-party- I gave up trying to do anything Wishlist Foundation wise. If you guys are still up for it at the Black Sheep, then I suggest getting in touch with Laura ASAP as she will probably have had to ship items by now

    Isnt this super far from the Tower? Hopefully we dont have a lot of buzzed drivers driving up to Upper Darby if this is the meeting place..the Waterford is right next door...eaasily stumbling..er...walking distance :)

    Black Sheep is a great bar, and a pretty easy walk to the subway (Market-Frankford El).

    I respect your opinion but would advise others to consider the El. I've done it at least 50 times with absolutely no issue, and the subway drops you off at the front of the venue.

    The only potential issue is the return trip, as it's unclear whether the 69th St station will be open late. But even if not, there's a shuttle bus from there that takes you to the subway line, and it will be full of concert goers.

    Don't be. Upper Darby is an odd/shady area, but the area around the venue will be swarming with Vedder fans before and after the show.

    Uh, the thread said this is for the after party. So unless people are drinking the entire show and missing Ed onstage there shouldn't be that many buzzed drivers.

    Sorry, didn't read the whole thread. I'm probably just going to hit University City before Friday's show. I have my old bar I used to work at and like 5 other bars within a block of it and it's about 2 and 1/2 miles from the venue.

    I haven't been to the Tower since Pete Townshend was there YEARS ago. I remember a parking garage - but I don't remember if you can tailgate there. does anyone know?

    I'm almost certain there are no outdoor/garage tailgating opportunities.

    But The Waterford Inn is a decent drinking option for those driving in.

    I'll be at both nights now! Probably Waterford on Thursday (as I'm driving right from work), and wherever the board consensus is (Black Sheep) Friday.

    First beer's on me if I recognize ya. Maybe wear those sunglasses? :)
