His Dark Side of the Moon tour was awesome, but I have to admit that the lip syncing is a bit of a letdown. I guess it's somewhat forgivable since he doesn't appear to do it for the whole show, but I'd be perfectly happy to hear him sing badly rather than fake it. Anyway, I'm excited for The Wall.

Any advance info on the dates/cities?

Can you show me where he lip synced - like a youtube video? Not that I don't believe you but I really gotta see it.

I definitely think he was lip syncing on Fletcher Memorial Home when I saw him. His singing all of the sudden sounded perfect on the most difficult parts of the song. I know he has admitted to using a backing track on some stuff, so maybe that's a slight distinction between full on faking it. This video (different show) certainly isn't definitive, but at 1:13 I'm pretty confident that there is a recording playing.

    I also found this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cX5-z9Ps ... re=related

In this case he's singing with a backing track, and he sounds like one would expect for a guy in his 60s. If he is able to go from this to sounding flawless by himself on Fletcher, then that is truly remarkable.

Here's another version of Fletcher where there seems to be a loud backing track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiojDdR3 ... re=related

Ouch - I see what you mean and don't like it.

But saying that this tour's gonna be great. I'm sure there are only a few songs where he does that over-dubbing.

I just lost a lot of respect for him. Wow. That's Bush League. Yes, one of the most creative people in rock history, but that's weak.

I'm still excited for the tour, too. Should be great, even if he's a little "augmented" :)

Saw him in London in 2007, after the whole lip-synching "scandal", and he had definately got rid of the backing tapes on the date I saw him.

Beyond there though, I'm not sure.
  • Show dates are posted now. Hartford on Oct. 15. I will be there. I saw the original Wall show at Nassau Coll. and I was at Berlin in 1990 so there is no way I am going to miss this.

I'm on the fence with this one. I might be the only one in the world that thought the Dark Side tour was overrated. It wasn't bad, but after seeing Australian Pink Floyd show do Dark Side twice previously, they do it much better.
