Can't the 10c do something to fix these shipping anomalies? $11.12 to ship a hoodie. Isn't that a little ridiculous? I order the mex head hoodie... but all the other hoodies are shipped for $7.70.

My opinion is that there must be a reason for the high shipping charges because I do believe that the ten club generally tries to take care of us fans. But... Having said that, there were a few things i was going to order but didnt after i saw the shipping charges. If its a glitch I'm sure it will be fixed but I don't think I will be ordering something at those prices unless its a must have.

Yeah I mean... it should be a priority. I ship things quite a bit with delivery confirmation even and it costs about half of what it cost to ship the mexhead for $11.12. even the posters. The $5 posters are cheaper than the shipping! lol.

  • I was going to get the Backspacer LP, but the shipping was $11.12, so I passed on it. The shipping was actually more than the cost of the record!

I am hoping 10c fixes this shipping error very soon. There have been other things I wanted to order, but didn't, due to the high shipping cost. :(

The best part is they don't answer anything about shipping... pretty lame.

  • could they possibly be saving money on their end by attributing more of their income to shipping charges than profit on merchandise? just a guess. regardless, i will probably not be making any purchases on the site until the shipping is more reasonable.

  • Got the NYC live CD, even though the shipping was more than double the $3 sale price since it still ended up being a deal, but would have picked up some more stuff if the shipping didn't totally negate the sale prices. I added the Ames Bros. book to my cart since it was a great deal but then saw another $20 added for shipping cost on top of the $7 for the CD shipping  Just glad I was able to pick up the Mad Season vinyl at my local record store without the upcharge on Thursday. If there was some sort of explanation of the very high shipping up charges then I wouldn't mind as much, but there's no rhyme or reason, why would it cost $27 to ship a CD and book within the US? Maybe they should look for different shipping methods.

I did send them an e-mail a while back, asking about the high cost of shipping and suggesting that maybe it was a glitch that could be worked out. I never heard back about this. :(

shipping has gotten really expensive (not 10C, but costs through USPS/UPS/FedEx). I posted some posters for sale and wanted to ship for $5, but shipping itself is now more than that for Priority Mail. Add on the cost of a tube, packing materials, etc. and you're over $10 for a poster. 10C doesnt ship Priority I dont think, but has to add employee costs as well.

I agree that it's expensive, but costs arent what they were 10 years ago either.

Yikes, the shipping more than the record. Gonna have to pass on this.

Hell of a complaint. I love how its considered complaining, whining, groaning and moaning when posters make a statement against something the club does.

The funniest part is, i just made a statement that was true.

    so did Santos.

to be fair, I've been in your shoes, when I "go against the club" with a perfectly logical complaint and I get destroyed for it. Your complaint is perfectly legit. that's not what I'm saying. I just didn't think it was a big deal what santos replied with, that's all. if it wasn't you, you probably would have found it funny too.

and part of me, with this shipping complaint stuff, thinks you guys in the US are spoiled. If I were to ship a hoodie next door it would cost me $25.

    Here's MY answer:

"so…the hoodie went from $55 to $15 and you're pissed about paying $11.12 to ship a 2lb package with tracking to NY? Seriously? Shipping is based on weight and destination.
Be more than happy to cancel your order. Lemme know asap."

WOW. If this guy worked at Walmart his ass would be out the door... a long time ago. Again, nothing person, but this isn't the way you treat people.... in any arena.

hey, at least they are replying. That's good customer service.
Me, personally, I wouldn't buy that hoodie if it was free + s/h. It's just not my style.
As for the shipping in the US going up, I figure it's a combo of USPS rates going up exponentially plus the fact that international shipping is cheap for 10c members how from the 10c so we are just subsiding their discount

it's not walmart. they aren't begging for your business.

but come ON. you are complaining about $11.12 shipping of a clothing item! And it's like 80% off! are you a 95 year old man who steals honey packets from McDonald's??

I would advise looking at the whole equation, not the price of the product separated from the shipping costs. $26 for a hoodie. I'd be down with that.

no... what i am saying is... the other hoodies... are 7.70 to ship. this one was 11.12. that's a discrepancy and i asked about a possible mistake. i mean, as a customer, we're entitled to ask a question if need be. by the way, walmart is begging for your business. i don't steal ketchup packets and i don;t eat at mcdonald's. that should about do it. any business should be diplomatic when responding to a question from a customer. it's called customer service but, hey, if you run a punch press for a living you might not know anything about the principles of maintaining a good relationship with customers. it's pretty simple.

  • Another Ten Club problem rooted in a lack of transparency...

Ironically though, I think they would have larger sales if they marketed the sale as 50% off plus free shipping.

I'm guessing the 10c changed their shipping methods recently?

They used to charge Canadian's and arm and a leg (Even though shipping to Canada from the US isn't really that much more than shipping domestically in the US). We got lumped in with the overseas rates. I've noticed now that shipping rates are really good to Canada.

I used to avoid ordering from the 10c (and would order elsewhere if it were an option), but now it's not so bad. I guess Canadians came out a head and American's came out behind?

How did the overseasons 10 clubbers make on on the new rates?

I just did a test. I put a Tres Mts and Jeff's solo vinyls in my cart. Two vinyls and shipping was $15.80.

I then cleared the cart and put 5 Backspacer vinyls in my cart. Shipping was $14.xx.

It seems the postage is based on the dollar value of the purchase with some ranges factored in.

The shipping for posters is appropriate to the US. I have a few times not purchased items due to the shipping, but that just probably means more that I didn't really want or need the items I was purchasing.

yeah, I just bought the Ames book. Shipping to Winnipeg was only $3 give or take. That's insanely low. But yeah, for the longest time I didn't buy anything big/heavy from this site as the shipping charges were insane to Canada.
