Ok! Ledbetterdays and I have been working on the details of the Austin Eddie Vedder Wishlist Foundation Preparty. We got the OK from the venue today so here we go!

    Stopped by there today. I think there were a total count of 21 beers on tap. I think you'll find something. Maybe try them all!

    Yeah I'd like to know of a nice but close place to stay near the venue. I'll look into some places and maybe the hosts of the preparty can help with recommending something that many of us out of towners can book.

    Hotels are all a question of what is your budget and what do you want to be close to. The venue is on campus and the pre-party is on the street right next to campus. There are not too many hotels right near either location. 4th and 6th Street is where the party happens at night, but the locals prefer Rainey Street and South Congress so most people would probably choose to be near there. Hotels are pretty pricy that weekend. Most celebs stay at The Four Seasons. There is a Super 8 for something cheap, The Doubletree or the Radisson for something generic, the Austin Motel or the San Jose Hotel on South Congress for something unique, and the Driskill or Four Seasons for something high end. I would recommend staying West of Interstate 35 unless you are adventurous. A couple people have booked at the Extended Stay as well for these shows.

    Whenever I'm in Austin, I always try to stay at the extended stay at the corner for 6th and Guadaluape.... it's nothing fancy, but the location can't be beat and I'm booked there for 119/night for that weekend with 2 double beds... the rooms have a kitchenette and full size fridge...

    Also, they don't require you to pay a deposit or in advance... just give a credit card number and you have up until 5 pm the day of your scheduled arrival to cancel...

    I'd highly recommend the place....
