If it doesn't sell out we will know it was overpriced.
Otherwise, priced well, or perhaps even underpriced. (as usual)
Expensive yes, overpriced............ think you will be wrong on that charge.
When you consider the man's worth....and the state of the economy....and the fact that it's not an entire band but just one man sitting there for two hours....yeah $90 after service charges for 2 hours is overpriced in my opinion. Great show but the show I saw in Philly in 2009 was almost the exact same show I saw in Newark the previous year.

Underpriced as usual? Really?
You fail to grasp the idea of price point. That is the point where if something is overpriced it won't sell (well, out, as well as it might).
But that is not the case with EV solo shows. They are underpriced, thus they sell out very fast and many people who wanted a ticket at that price feels left out.
Now if they were priced correctly, let's say $150.00 per ticket, and they didn't sell out until the day of the show then you could say they were perfectly priced.
if they were over priced (let's say $200 per ticket) and didn't sell well, and didn't sell out, then it would be safe to say they were overpriced.
So yeah, just like most of Pearl Jams shows, they are under market price. That is why scalpers have such a blast reselling these tickets for market value.
If $90.00 is over priced for YOU, then don't go, but if they sell then you can't make that claim for the event.
Them the facts.
P.S. Does considering a mans worth always come into play when deciding if something is a good value/priced right?
I've never seen that factor calculated into supply and demand. lol.
Last amendment.
I think it is fair to say, when all of the tickets for a single venue are the same price then you do get some tickets at said event that are overpriced.
for example if the tickets are $50.00 each then those up front are grossly underpriced, while the last row, or last few rows might turn out to be overpriced.
However with this said, I think this is calculated into the price point, where they are willing to give up the back few rows as unsold to make the entire event priced at the same level.
I don't prefer this method, but I think this way of pricing a venue has been favored by Pearl Jam/EV. In the end most of the last few seats still sell out, but not always.
Best news to go to bed to. I will absolutely be at this and the Hartford show. I have been insanely jealous reading the Aussie fanviews. Now I can just relax and enjoy knowing that our time will come soon enough.
Tres Mts. in a couple of weeks, Ed solo tour, Ed album, PJ20 movie, book, festival, and (fingers crossed) tour.

well done wilds. imo, i prefer non tiered ticket pricing cause it's totally un rock n roll like to make people pay more cause they are close up. same price for any ticket in the building. only with lawns i do prefer 2 ticket levels
HTUC got called the "anti-d" last week. i'd prefer debbie downer
happy for boston....the only problem i see is that ev solo usa tour is the next will be announced, and pj20 announcement getting back,so the trip will be so expensive... :(

Yeah.... that's one angry dude.
I actually agree with you about tiered tickets. I am a fan of one price with the exception of 'lawn', 'behind the stage', and 'the really far away seats'. In that case those seats should be priced lower.
I would be happy to pay $5.00 or $10.00 extra in most any seat in the venue if that allows the band to offer cheaper (far away) seats to kids/people with less disposable income.
Price Point - are kidding me? By the sounds of it you're a business major/business type of guy but in today's economy this is a little much. I just bought a Neil Young ticket for the Wang theatre for $101 and last month I got a ticket for Cornell for $39.50 at even a smaller venue - so how does Eddie charge $75 with charges amounts to be around $95-$100.
I'm going to go - I've seen him solo 4 times now and paid the same for all the shows but it does add up and to say "price point" is flat out wrong. Neil and Chris have been around longer and have more material. I have a feeling unless it's a arena like td bank north or an ampitheatr like the comcast, theatres are always going to sell-out no matter the price - this is about making cash that simple.
It's one of those things basically if you don't want to pay the money don't go but don't make it a "price point" thing. Peace and love!
