In my experience, 7-4 days prior for arena events is the way to go. Start watching at 20 days out.
However, I dont know why anyone would goto this for only 3 songs and 6 hours of talking, OMG. How many EvenBros get escorted from this show.
My guess is that perhaps people are going to support and congratulate the band and not treat it as a full concert experience. There are also other bands being inducted so it isn't all PJ all of the time. Perhaps not your thing at all and that is fine. You have to know your limits. I have plenty of friends here excited about going and I am thrilled for them!
Never cease to regret posting to these boards...just so you know "You have to know your limits" is snarky and uncalled for. I was merely sharing my ticket strategy and reminding people this is not a "full on show" so it may not be so bad to lose out. Have a great day.
I agree with you, this was not my thing so i didn't try for tickets. Hopefully the money saved can be used for airfare to go see pj live! Congrats to everyone who got tickets. Dave, this could be your first show since 96 where dte is not played!
Are Barclays & MSG about the same seating capacity?

I was very on the fence, but my buddy scored great seats. I'm excited now and since I live an hour away I know I would be kicking myself after the fact that I missed it even though it's not a full on concert. It's a once in lifetime event for the band. I find most of the time I only regret the things I didn't do... not the things I actually did.

Pearl Jam aren't big on self celebration so it will be interesting to see how this goes. I'm think that's why the PJ20 weekend wasn't as good as people were expecting.

TBH, I'm a little surprised they are embracing this RnRHOF as much as they are, considering what a stink they made about the Grammys, and the whole 'awards for art' thing.
I'm not trying to be a fly in the ointment, and if this has been brought up in another thread, my apologies......... But it is somewhat contradictory IMO, especially considering how Ament stuck to his guns about the Grammys in the PJ20 documentary.
I can't say this enough; I'm not trying to take away from anyone's enjoyment or anticipation of the show, it will be an awesome unique experience (I tried to get tix myself!), but like I said, I do find it a bit contradictory, but whatever....... I'm still a fan for life.

A friend of mine scored 2 tickets today. Though I'm not sure what seats. An hour later she got an email saying the tickets were unconfirmed. 30 minutes later, confirmation email. She said she bought them through Barclay's.

Through Barclays or TM was one and the same. If you bought on the Barclays site, that was routed through TM, so I don't think it mattered which one people attempted to get tix through. I tried both at the same time to no avail...

Yeah, I wasn't sure since I didn't try. I was still asleep when she was texting me an hour after the onsale.

I think RS65573 thought that "you have to know your limits" was actually directed at RS65573 and not just a general statement.
Tip: I find that the word "one" -- as in "one has to know one's limits" -- comes in handy when dealing with a bunch of narcissists on a fan club's message board.

I haven't really seen them embrace it that much though. I mean, they sent an email when it was announced and then about tickets and there was a tweet or two but did they even put out an official statement?
I feel like it'll go pretty much like all the inductions go - Neil will make a great speech, a cool video will play, they'll give a speech, and then play 3-5 songs.
And if I can find tickets for less than $200/each I'll go.
I didn't even bother, since it's two or three songs, a speech and is on HBO the following week.

If you did not mean it that way, my bad. From the entire context, "Not YOUR thing, know YOUR limits", sure doesnt read that way. I really didnt mean to argue with anyone.
I thought everyone here had at least heard the uniondale boot, let alone were there, again, didnt mean to reflect some political judgement.
And I dont think im a narcissist...I dont do facebook, dont have 100 shows in my footer, but hey, ya never know.

Honestly, I was invited along on the big friend road trip to the induction ceremony. Though extremely thoughtful and I very much appreciated being included, I declined for many reasons. Perhaps some of my "yours" rolled over into it. I do apologize for that. I really didn't mean it to be a bitch.
