Sorry to send you to bed with this sad report but current figures are 6,134 dead in Nepal and 14,000 more are injured. Maybe tonight you will dream of something that you can do tomorrow to help.
In the effort to keep these URGENT Nepal Earthquake Relief posts at the top of the list, I'm attempting to be more creative than just typing the word "bump". Please picture this: Recent estimates are that more than 14,000 Nepalese, Indian and Chinese people have been injured by last Saturday's devastating 7.8 earthquake in that region. I'm going to list several concert venues where Pearl Jam have recently played - each venue with seating capacities of approximately 14,000 people. Spokane Arena: 12,638 people Key Arena, Seattle: just under 15,000 people Giant Center, Hershey, PA: 12,500 people i Wireless Center, Moline, PA: 12,000 First Direct Arena, Leeds UK: 13,000 people Perhaps this will help people to visualize the enormity of this disaster and the immediate need for your assistance to ease the suffering. Thank you.
Recognizing that many Ten Club members don't have the time to visit the Porch and Lost Dogs during the week, can we please all attempt to keep this urgent matter at the top of the lists throughout the weekend? Thanks!
"Now it's time to say good night Good night, sleep tight Now the sun turns out his light Good night, sleep tight Dream sweet dreams for me (Dream sweet) Dream sweet dreams for you
Close your eyes and I'll close mine Good night, sleep tight Now the moon begins to shine Good night, sleep tight Dream sweet dreams for me (Dream sweet) Dream sweet dreams for you"
Good morning once again all! While we are waking up here in America and beginning our day, it's approaching 7 p.m. tonight in Kathmandu, Nepal (they are 9:45 hours ahead of us) and time to find a safe place to sleep. For those in our Pearl Jam community that have already donated money via paypal.com (from a choice of four different charities) earlier this week, your generosity is already being felt by the Nepalese people as we speak. And not to be left out, everyone else in our community still can very easily and quickly donate as well right now - either by donating via paypal.com AND/OR our Nepal Earthquake Relief Raffle fund-raiser right here in Ten Club Lost Dogs! Thank you very much for your kindness.
Here's an encouraging news story just released regarding the Nepal disaster: "Rescuers have pulled a 101-year-old man alive from his ruined home a week after Nepal's earthquake claimed at least 7,200 lives, as the government warned Sunday the death toll will climb "much higher". Funchu Tamang was rescued on Saturday from the rubble of his house with only minor injuries to his ankle and hand, after the quake ripped through the impoverished country on April 25." Helps illustrate the URGENCY for all of us to PLEASE donate and help NOW! Thank you.

Sure is a small world, isn't it badbrains? Fortunately for L.A., there are no reported injuries, deaths or damage. Really helps put things in perspective, doesn't it? Thanks for the bump!
