I agree with you, there one of the few bands that really just go out and have fun on stage. I think there more of a young person band though . They've almost been around as long as pearl jam (92) but you don't see many people over 30 at a weezer concert (that i've been to anyway)
Pinkerton and Blue album are my faves.
Green album was solid
Didn't care for Maladroit (I know I'm gonna get reamed)
Make Believe- - has some good songs, I know alot of people don't like it. I think the songs on this record came off better live. (This is the tour I saw Weezer on with Foo Fighters).
Red Album- It's ok
Ratitude- Actually thought the songs were catchy musically, surprisingly liked it
Hurley- same Opinion as Raditude
Although I have only seen them once, they do pull pretty heavily from blue album and play the hits. Do a descent job of mixing the setlist as far as albums go, but I wish they would play more pinkerton stuff. Usually you get like 2 songs. Granted, I know that album is considered their dark record and Rivers was depressed while the making of it was going on, but it is still a great album. Glad they did the Blue and Pinkerton "two night tour" last year. We didn't get one here though.
Weezer's live show is fun though, just a bunch a goofy guys having fun, and playing catchy tunes. Gotta say it was so cool seeing Rivers pull a guy on stage randomly to play "undone- the sweater song" with the band.
The first two albums are amazing, the second two are solid rock albums, Make Believe is a new level of suck, the Red album is pretty alright, Raditude was downright terrible, and Hurley was just there. Sad they've gone so far down hill.
Thanks EPOTTSIII!

I saw them for a free show back in Jan 2010. They were okay - I could had done without their new pop songs

The Blue album is a 90s classic and strangely I just listened to Pinkerton for the first time yesterday after reading this thread and thought it was pretty good. I really never liked much else from them but a song here or there. I might just have to pick up a used Pinkerton CD.

The Blue Album and Pinkerton are both classics. The Green Album was solid. After that I lost interest. I like a few other songs here and there, but I haven't bought one of their albums in years.
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."
Just found out today that they are playing a free show in Newark, Delaware at the Christiana Mall today to help open up a new Microsoft store there. Saw a pic line was pretty big. They were also doing a meet and greet to the first 200 fans there. Would be kinda cool to go to, but don't feel liek going by myself. Plus i'm not sure how it all works and if it would be "sold out" Would only take me less tahn an hour to get there
I saw Weezer back in 2010 in Peoria, IL. They were fairly entertaining, the new stuff doesn't do too much for me, but I like the older music much more than the newer music.

I used to be a big Weezer fan, but over the years the band and I went in opposite directions. I still appreciate them and enjoy their first three albums, but their later music doesn't speak to me like their old stuff. There was a time in my life when i'd caught them in concert more than I'd seen Pearl Jam.
I love the blue album! It puts me back into a special summer that was full of amazing music! We went to a Failure show in May and I told my hubs "They sound so much like Weezer", and he said "Yeah, but Failure was there first". I think I want to get at least the blue album on vinyl.
Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!

cool. yeah they are playing in philly also, $65 at the troc (small venue). Not sure if they are playing the entire album or not, probably are. I was thinking of getting tix, but a $65 is a bit steep for them allbeit it's a small venue. Also i might be going to another concert that night which is a little cheaper, lol.
