I wouldn't mind seein MMJ, as I missed them or Ben Harper's new band.

Is there any actual rumors, other than people lookin at other bands' open schedules.

ben harper is at lollapalooza, i believe any artist that plays lollapalooza can't play a show in chicago for a period of time before and after lollapalooza(i think it's 3 months), so i am pretty sure that ben harper is out for opening act in chicago, as would be the kings of leon. mmj would be great though

i haven't heard any rumors but i'd take sonic youth, mudhoney and liam finn against the field.

Band of Horses finishes up in Europe August 18 then heads back to the US for Outside Lands. Maybe they'll bring along another Seattle band?

    Hopefully no openers.

Show should be listed to start at 8pm

As great as openers can be, it's time to move to the next level, and possibly knock down the cost of a ticket, even if it's only a few bucks.

Unless it's a standard thing to write, in the "Please Note..." section for the Toronto show, it says "Support: TBA"... guess that means we've got an opener to sit through :(

KOL? or are they too big now? Seems like they picked up MMJ when they were already big.

I would say MMJ could easily still open for PJ. Their probably not even as big as KoL at this point.

KOL cannot Sniff JJ's jock, seriously why does everyone like them? I saw them 2 times, as a an opener and at Lolla and just can't get into them. MMJ on the other hand I would say that would be a dream gig now for me. Saw them open twice way back but didn't know who the hell they were, but they made me notice! 3 times since and just love them live

This makes perfect sense to me. If we're taking bets they're my front runner. Would be cool

of course MMJ would be the top choice but i don't think it'll be them

As for KOL they may not be anywhere near as good as MMJ live but nobody really is. Still a great band

While I'd pretty much be happy with any of the above listed bands, I've got a part of me that's really holding out for Minus the Bear, or on the extremely doubtful but entirely wishful thinking front, Local H...

...whoever it is, will likely be wonderful. I've never been to a PJ show where I thought the opening band was terrible...

I would LOVE an evening with but if it's TBA then I guess it's TBA. I use to really luv checking out opening bands but I've been to a few shows recently that don't have any openers and it's great..to just get right into the headliner!!!

It's kinda the same over here. KoL are becoming quite popular and MMJ have just kinda stalled. They headlined MSG on NYE, and not to take anything away from their performance but relatively, there are alot of bands that could have done the same.

    ... be a great choice.

KOL - not a chance. They practically sold-out the ACC last month.
