He's crying like a baby probably! He shoulda been locked up 13 years ago so no sympathy here.

That is fair if only his armed burglary offense is considered. I get the impression that some people think he should stay in prison because of the other thing, but obviously, that is irrelevant.
I heard on the news this morning that he will get $25,000 (or was it $35,000?) a MONTH from his NFL pension, and that amount is protected so that the Goldmans won't be able to get any of it through their civil trial liability win. So he'll be living pretty high on the hog assuming he doesn't do any more crazy shit.

It's tough for me to separate that.....

I think it sucks he is getting out alive. But you are correct in that the time when he murdered 2 people and got away with it doesn't come into play.

He did go free for murdering 2 people but LA would have burned to the ground if he was found guilty.

    No doubt.
I lived in an LA suburb during the first riots and OJ trial. My dad was actually a cop during both, and the most senior officer working the jail when OJ was there. It was so high profile he had to personally escort him to the transport van and babysit him when he was in his cell. He hated that guy, but can talk for hours about his experience with him.
anyway, I remember when the verdict was read all the white kids were annoyed and all the black kids were jumping on the lunch tables celebrating. I could never understand that. And not just my school, when you watch footage of the verdict being read it was the same reaction across the country. No doubt there really would have been riots and many people would have lost their lives. It's a shame it came down to race in this case.

It's 25k. And he's been collecting it the last 9 years in jail too without spending It. The Goldman's have received nothing so far. He will still live a luxury life, minus the angry stares he gets everywhere he goes.

Why does America have to televise and exploit everything?  OJ took over the headlines and msm today. Why?

    One word:  Sensationalism

    Edit:  Two words:  sensationalism, distraction

Three if you include "money" because that is what corporate media is all about.

It pays the bills. I m guessing the news made it to Canada.
Mace,  cool stories. Was your dad a cop during the race riots too?

Yes mcgruff, we do have TV up here
It is overrun though with American channels - hence the saturation of OJ today.

I still can't believe that so many black people sided with him. Pisses me off. White people were pissed because he got away with murder. Black people were happy because.... he got away with murder? :nuh_uh: Yeah, yeah, I remember the racist cop and am aware of the racial problems in the justice system and all that... IMO that made no difference in that particular case, and I sincerely expected more black people to see that.

He had recently been promoted to Sergeant at the Hall of Justice Jail downtown he wasn't policing the streets, but drove through the worst of it to get to work every day and saw a lot. I forget what the exact incident was that supposedly was the first violent act but he says he saw it happen through the window and basically told everyone to brace for hell.
my mom cried and prayed every day he left for work after that. If you were a white guy in that area you were a target, white and a cop was just suicide.
