Put Open Road and Falling Down on album #11

cp3iversoncp3iverson Posts: 8,640
U know it would be badass.  Nothing wrong with revisiting old ideas.  I know Mike recycled one with The Rockfords but c'mon....

throw Of the Earth on there too and you only need seven more tunes. Album of the year  B)

It's great, right? Back then they could come up with something like this in a show, and probably it was an idea born on the previous soundcheck.
Now they make us wait years and years for an album.. and they give us Sirens.

times change. that's the natural cycle of an aging band. they aren't together touring 9 months of the year anymore, writing
    Brother-->Daughter on the tour bus.

Jeff actually said he misses trying out unreleased material live, but you can't do that anymore, or it will be on youtube in seconds.

and I don't see anything wrong with rehashing old material for a new release. Radiohead has said they put at least one really old song on each record. True Love Waits was on the last one. When the Headstones were writing Love and Fury (2011), it was through Pledgemusic. I had asked during a Q&A about their first album of demos (1989), and Hugh responded "shit, dude! I forgot about those! I need to go take a listen! Thanks!". And one of those tracks ended up on the record.

I'd love one of the vault series records to be completed studio songs we've never heard. Just one LPs worth.

That sounds like another Lost Dogs.

Definitely want another LD, but don't slap an "Album #11" on the cover.

I want fresh, new, current. I want to hear their musical interpretations of 'right now'. (2013 to present)

Of the Earth is great. better than great. But I think it should remain less accessible in order to maintain it's infamy.

or release an "Of The Earth" EP with all of the studio versions/mixes they've attempted. have fans vote on which one they like best, out of all the votes, draw a name for a signed copy. make it an interactive thing.

"Let It Ride" is a really awesome song, too. I read somewhere that 25 songs were recorded for S/T..

I actually JUST read that yesterday. it was from a rolling stone article I believe. so for BoB to say "the vault is empty" is total bullshit.

With the right mixing and production. They can use that live version from Dublin. I think the first time they played it live.

Wasn't the "Better Man" on Vitalogy actually recorded at the Atlanta '94 show?

Can't be - Dave's drum tech drums on the Vitalogy version. I wish they could have captured Atlanta's energy and vibe on Vitalogy. Big miss IMO.

Nope! I don't get the love for it. The jam is nice, but it's just all over the place as a song.
