they have to play Corduroy. It's the essence of their sound

    Corduroy
    Mind Your Manners
    RearViewMirror
    Alive

RITFW at the end with everyone.

Maybe Alive will be the song with everybody at the end?

Would feel wrong playing RITFW. Neil was inducted in 1995 (or whenever), they could have ended with it then..

They'll give all 4 original members and major songwriters a tune:
    Given To Fly (Mike)
    NAIS or Jeremy (Jeff)
    Betterman (EdVed)
    Alive (Stoney)

I believe they'll play a jam with everyone and Uncle Neil, likely RITFW, and if it's 3 songs and the jam I guess Jeff's tune is on the cutting room floor (unfortunately)

Plus the whole RITFW thing was done less than two years ago at GC fest.

And at Obamas last speech. And every fucking show.

Nothing against the song or PJ playing it.

But this evening. Celebrate with original material.

This would be the obvious and correct choice.

Here's how it should go down:

    Jeremy - Krusen
    Corduroy - Dave A
    Given to Fly - Jack

Lightning Bolt (or something from the late era) Matt C

    Alive - Matt C

    :)

    Lightning Bolt - w/ Cameron
Given To Fly - w/ Irons
    Alive - w/ Krusen

End the show with Rocking In The Free World w/ Neil Young & all 3 drummers

Hmm... Matt C bookending? Seems reasonable.

But you're leaving out Dave A. Not a fan of that.

Still hoping for them to skip RITFW and do Alive with everyone instead.

Yes!!!! Just original pj. Keep Neil far away from the stage after his speech.

Naw. Have him shredding, have him sing backup or take a verse.

but let it be a Pearl Jam song.

I think it's a good chance they get more than 3 or 4 songs. I'm not into trying to get a song with each drummer and it's so hard to pick a handful of songs for this set, but I think I'd be happy with the following:

    Given to fly
    Mym
    Grievance
Do the Evolution w/Neil in chorus
    1/2 full w/Neil
    Alive
Close it out with RITFW with all artists

Would be cool to hear a cover as well-sonic reducer/know your rights/bleed for me.

Really, as long as sirens or the fixer don't make an appearance, I'll be happy!

1/2 full is a great choice to have Neil on.

I pretty much have to agree with Rummy's post. Can't leave Corduroy or RVM out. GTF at the original tempo is another awesome choice and close it with Alive c/w guests. If there's room for a fifth song, it's Present Tense and of course prior to Alive. As fine and respectful job as they've done on the many covers, this is PJ's NIGHT, a night to honour how awesome and deep their own catalogue is. Let any guest musicians join in the tribute to the incredibly special and largely unique path that this band has carved out.

    Better Man - Matt
    Given To Fly - Jack
    Even Flow - Dave K
    Alive - Matt (everyone)

Do we know if Jack has accepted PJ's invite? - I hope he's there!!
I heard that Dave A refused his invite from PJ.

Historically bands have only played 3 or at most 4 songs. Nirvana got 4 a couple years ago and their songs are shorter than PJ's for the most part. I went to the 2012 ceremony in Cleveland when the Chili Peppers got in and they did 3 songs, then the 4th was "Higher Ground" as a jam with everyone. I'm thinking 3 or 4 for PJ is most likely with the 4th probably being a jam with everyone, RITFW or another cover or ideally 4 PJ songs then a 5th cover to close it out with everyone.

Unlikely to happen, but if Nirvana did it with 4 singers why not PJ with 4 drummers - we can dream. I'm also being somewhat conservative with the song choices, just don't see them busting out something exotic even in my dreams on this kind of occasion:

    GTF (with Jack)
Go or RVM (with Dave A)
    Alive (with Dave K)
    RITFW (with Matt, Neil etc.)

    What I realistically expect:
MYM or Lightning Bolt (with Matt) - something "new", but hopefully not Sirens though I concede it's possible, since the band all seem to regard this as a high watermark. To each their own...

    Alive (with Dave K)
RITFW (with Matt and Dave K, Neil etc.)

Come to think of it, a rarity (or at least a non-war horse) may very well get played as "Nirvana" played Aneurysm.

    3 songs? Hard to Imagine
Drop the Leash - PJ to play 10 songs (or more)!
Red Dot, Gremmie, Whale Song, Dirty Frank - make the RnR HoF suits question the wisdom of inducting them.
Not For You to close with a wall of drummers...
