Hard To Imagine Opener

Have to say, I've been fortunate enough to see this four out of 12 shows, more than I've seen Daughter in fact - thoughts on placement? I've seen it twice as an opener, twice in the encore, the first couple of times it really ever opened a show - I think it's a much stronger opener and should be used more often. Just my two cents as dip my toe back into the forum - a long way from being the setlist relayer for the forum at MSG years ago.

Pretty wild. But yes, I've seen HTI more than Daughter, as absurd as that is.

It was the 2nd song in the Tulsa set. I thought it fit well. I'm glad I got to hear it live.

I don't think it really works as an opener. You want something there that is going to pop the crowd, get them into it right away. HTI is largely unknown to many in most crowds.

Yes please! 12 shows, heard it once, Baltimore '13. It was exactly what I wanted, I couldn't believe it! Up to that point, and if you don't count Pendulum (since they followed with more traditional openers) I'd had all unique openers for at 7 shows I'd been to at that point. I'd heard all the 'usual' ones, except for Hard to Imagine--a song I reeeally wanted to hear. And lo and behold, after Pendulum, there it came! I was beside myself. It was the perfect show for that song to be played at, too, on a personal level. I tear up a little every time I listen to it on the boot. Very special song.

Hoping to hear it again this year!

Had it song 2 in Calgary after "Of The Girl". It was good to hear, because it was hard to imagine that anyone made it to that show given the blizzard situation outside. What a shit-show it was getting to the gig, but having GA tix was nice given some people didn't show up or couldn't get in to Calgary, so the pit was empty. haha. Walked right up to the front 10 minutes before Ed stepped on stage.

I 100% disagree with this. Both times I saw it, the place went nuts, in Camden and MSG. Don't sell the fan base short, they're very intelligent and savvy.

I wanted it REALLY badly in 2013 too.

I lost out on the GA lotto for Baltimore (it was my second pick). Decided I could not make it to six shows in a row. Would have went if it was a Saturday but couldn't do sunday.

I hope you get it this year man! After 6 shows, I'm still waiting to hear Hail Hail. I'm a bit surprised to have not heard it yet and it's one of my favs.

HTI was the very first PJ song I got to hear live in person. It was a shock at the Roo 08. I still remember the feeling I had. Magic.
