What are your top 5 favorite posters?

I was surprised when many people didn't like the Mexico Wrestling poster as I would put it in my top 5. So It's time for me to ask, what are your top 5 favorite posters and which ones do you own and do you have a story behind it? And what do you think makes a great poster?

For me a great poster should have one of these:
1. Represent the town the band is playing in
OR
2. Represent a song or story about the band
OR
3. Look absolutely incredible.

Here's mine:
1. Klausen - Love poster from Milton Keynes. I own this one and was at the show. Originally I didn't buy it because I couldn't really see it (it's small compared to the others that were there). This was well before the show started. When I got back to the hotel room people posted it and then posted the description on the back. The back of the poster is incredible. I hurried backed to the show and got one.

image
2. Ames - Trieste poster. This is the one that the band looks like the clergy. I own this one but did not go to the show.

image
3. Munk One - Pittsburgh Steele poster. I don't own it and wasn't at the show, but man this poster nailed it.
4. Emek - Portland timekeeper in the head thing. Sorry I don't know if it has a proper name. I wasn't at the show and don't own it. But this is a work of art that could easily be displayed in any museum.
5 Ames - Mexico Wrestlers. I don't know why but I just love this poster. I wasn't at the show and just bought it online.

Your turn.
92 - Orlando
03 - Tampa
08 - Tampa
12 - DeLuna Fest, EV Orlando 1 & 2, EV Ft Lauderdale 1 & 2
13 - Wrigley!!! ,Brooklyn 1 & 2, Hartford, OKC, Seattle
14 - Leeds, Milton Keynes, St Louis
16 - Ft Lauderdale, Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, Wrigley 1 & 2

    1. MSG II, Ames- It's Donkey Kong! still my holy grail of posters
    image
    2. Wrigley (Crackerjack), Kevin Shuss- Colors look spectacular, love baseball and was at the show.
    image
    3. Pittsburgh '13, Munk One- just looks awesome, would love to have one.
    image
    4. Portland '13, Emek- this one just stands out to me for some reason. colors and detail look great.
    image
    5. Camden '08 (either version), Klausen- I almost went to this show, went to a philleis game instead. This one i also dig a lot. maybe it's the bird, rose, skull and hourglass are nicely done ans stick out.
    image

    honorable mention:
Global Citizens (Transformers)- I've been a transformer fan since i was a kid so this one was cool
    image
    Isle of Wight 2012
    image

yeah i agree with you on what makes a great poster. represent the city and look incredible.

I also dig stuff from my childhood (80's) so if the artist can do something like that well (donkey kong and transformers) i'm all about it. Although the robocop one was done not so well, IMO.

sports related posters is usually fine with me since i'm a huge sports fan as long as it's done well (St' Louis and eddie detroit). some aren't that good the basketball one froma year or two ago.

    1. MSG II Kong
    2. Mexico 2005 (don't know why this isn't more popular)
    3. DC Reaper 2006
    4. Lincoln 2014
    5. Eddie Vedder Chicago 2008

Only one I don't own out of the five is the DC Reaper. Cant justify buying that one when as much as I love it, it would probably never make it to a wall at home.

Shows I didn't attend but would have liked to score these posters:

    Of the posters I own:

    1. 2000 Chicago
Love the poster and the mystery behind the poster. Looks like some of the questions surrounding this poster have been answered recently.
    2. Wrigley Ames "variant"
Was at the show and love the colors in this poster. Looks awesome in person.
    3. PJ 20 Billboard
Was at the show, and glad I was. Unbelievable weekend I spent with my 2 brothers. Love this poster.
    4. Kong
Was at the show, and probably the best show I've ever seen.
    5. Tie between Atlanta 2000, Pitt 2000, and Pitt 2013. All very nice.

Many posters out there that I would love to have and could easily move into my top 5. Santa Barbara for sure!
