What an asshole: MLB vinyl on eBay

someone on eBay already has listed the Hold Your Head Up vinyl for sale for $40. They will ship it "when they receive it". I would say unreal, but I'm not surprised. What an asshole though. Clearly a Fanclub member

These will be available on Black Friday at all record stores. RSD does not have the number pressed, but I think there should be plenty.

Exactly, this is a RSD release. Plenty of other people will have access to it outside of the 10club.

Is is really worth creating a new thread for each new ebay auction? Kind of pointless if you ask me.

Yeah.... Right.... And seriously, how much does it cost them to print a tiny stamp that I've gotta pay $0.49 to buy...

So why is this a fan club member? It says " will mail out when i get it Friday" Pretty sure with the way 10 club mails things no one from here will have them In hand Friday. You do know they will be selling then at record stores right.
Look at the feedback, probably knows someone at a record store and has one held.

This is how free markets work. Good for the seller if he can find a bonehead to pay $40 for 2 MLB songs.

Exactly...some member here (whose a great guy and has made plenty of deals) will put one up in Lost Dogs for $120 (which will be a fair price) because he needs money for another purchase or they decided they don't really need it

This is a capitalist society... people should be able to buy and sell for profit. Every store you go to... you think they're selling you shit for what they paid? lol.

No, I am not selling my copy here or otherwise but let people do what they want. Things are worth what the market says they're worth.

I agree 100% with what you say. Note the words in parentheses...any given day you will find someone who will shit on someone who is outside "the group" and shit on the thread, but will use my words in another thread on the same page.

as for the capitalism...Nike, Microsoft, Apple...etc are selling their product. The one they made at a profit. Stores sell at a price to pay those companies, pay their employees, benefits...etc...PJ fan Joe happened to sit on his ass and click "buy" first. In my mind a huge difference. I know I'm in the minority, but whatever. I can poke fun at those making money.

everytime something is released there's a post like this. 'it's on ebay now, that's not right, etc etc.' once you purchase something, it's YOURS to do as you please. a very good band once sang one of my favorite lines and it goes something like this:

    "it's not what they're selling, it's what you're buying"

People buy them and leave them sealed for a reason. They have value as collectables which goes to all the crazy fans who gobble up all PJ related things. This probably wasn't bought from 10c so I have no issue with it hitting ebay. The only time I have issue with things on ebay are when they come from here as there is a statement on the ordering page "not for resale". That's unenforceable and people hit spots in their lives where money becomes issues and you need to sell assets off. Thats one thing. Buying from 10c and taking it straight to ebay is another as you are literally taking it out of someone elses shopping cart after agreeing you wont resell.

This one PJ seemed to do right with as there are still copies sitting in stores per peoples posts. I hope there will be a lot of disappointed people selling on ebay but probably not. My daughter last christmas got a gaggle of itunes cards as she is 14 and I raised her (music is her thing). Only problem was she converted to a Galaxy right before that and couldnt use them. We sold them on ebay with the idea she could use the money to buy music online from other sites. People would actually bid above face value for a gift card you can buy online anytime you want face value or from every grocery store in America anytime you want. I just dont get it unless they are laundering drug money.

Completely agree. Why is OP part of the passive aggressive internet police? I still do not understand what exact outcome is expected. What exactly is wrong with buying something and reselling on an internet auction site? If said behavior is deemed inappropriate, what exact actions should be taken to resolve such behavior?

I don't see why folks have a problem with someone having a problem with a flipper. He didn't say that he wanted to start an uprising against flippers. He just complained about it happening. I get it. Of course people can do what they want with their stuff, and i personally mostly blame the buyers, not the sellers. But i still understand how it leaves a bad taste in people's mouths. I think that's all the OP is saying. Not trying to be the "passive aggressive internet police" (whatever the fuck that means.. opinion = attempted passive enforcement now??). It's just a bit sleezy to flip shit on ebay, especially from a collector/perspective original buyer's perspective, even if we all do have every right to flip stuff. We have the right to do all kinds of sleezy or vaguely assholey things. I see no reason to jump down a guy's throat for mentioning it.

Personally I'm not jumping down anyone's throat. I haven't been here very long compared to most of you (only been posting just under 2 years). I've watched this whole flipper debate stuff go back and forth - and I've found the subject kind of fascinating. I see some people complaining about it, then turning around and doing the same thing they complained about themselves. And often people say, well he's a good guy (or a good trader) and it's not flipping. But if a lesser known poster did it, he's sleezy and trying to rip off fellow 10 club members. I think that's what is annoying some people. It's seems to be more about who you are or aren't are, than what you're actually doing.

What exactly is the limit to flipping? If someone nabbed a Wrigley Cracker Jack in the 10c sale last year and sells it today - how is that different than someone who bought the MLB vinyl or Moline poster to sell? The cracker jack guy was just sitting on his investment a little longer. You know he intended on selling it for a profit all along.

Lol, I have no idea what the time limit of flipping is.... i guess it's just something that we all have to judge for ourselves and base our opinions on that. It is completely arbitrary. For me it's pretty short. Like, from pre-sale to release day. After that it's anyone's game. It is pretty hard to get mad about anything that isn't brand new, since that's what Lost Dogs is all about! As I said, the stupid prices for merch are really the buyers' faults, even if the sellers don't help by pre-ordering something and posting it for 100x the price before they even know what the demand is. That pisses me off a bit, lol.

But you're right. Have an opinion, but don't be too huge a hypocrite about it if you can help it.

I'm not sure where fault lands for flipping. It probably varies from item to item. I do think the 10 club does things to encourage flipping, even though they publicly say they are against it. It is what it is.
