WHY ARE PEOPLE POSTING THAT THIS IS THE END

So confused, they are not even getting started! They have a long ways to go, springsteen is 65 and going strong with 3.5-4 hour shows, he just toured for 26 months straight. Pearl jam tours for a couple months a year, they have not done a long tour in a while so I honestly dont get why everyone says they think this is it?

Huh? Where is this "everybody" that's posting "it's the end"? I've seen one dude suggest something based on one stage comment he heard reported on the Internet out of context. He's got like 17,000 posts, so I think he's running out of things to say.

It's not the end. For those who think it's the end should be dragged into the street and shot, multiple times.

You never know when the end comes. Until it comes.

You just never know. But it does sounds like it could be near the end. Hopefully not.

This is what im talking about lol, what does that even mean it sounds like it could be NEAR the end ? The band is very young and constantly puts out great albums and they barely tour so not like they are exhausted or sick of eachother.

I don't think aweisman10 is trying to find out who knows what and what the band has been saying. It seems to me they just wanna know why anyone would think they're running out of steam. Thanking the crew is just them being nice...and humble. That's a good thing. They're old?? Nah. Look at Bruce, Paul McCartney, Robert Plant. We've got many more years of PJ left, as long as everyone stays alive, that is! X_X

I don't think this is near the end, but I also think it's a stretch to say that the band is "very young" :)

The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery
And he walked on down the hall
He went into the room where his sister lived, and...then he
Paid a visit to his brother, and then he
He walked on down the hall, and
And he came to a door...and he looked inside
Father, yes son, I want to kill you
    Mother...I want to...fuck you

I agree, they're not losing any momentum. I heard something a long time ago that kind of fits....the older the bear, the sweeter the honey.

In the past month I've seen Tom Petty, Steve Winwood and Robert Plant. And every performance was mind blowing! I'd call the short tour schedule smart touring.

i've been reading about the end of this band for years...from when parting ways closed binaural to when the end was the final track of backspacer. interestingly, no one said anything about the meaning of future days as the last track of lightning bolt.

i never understood the allure of predicting the demise of anything (bands, sports teams, society, etc...). what do you hope to gain? the ability to stand above the crowd, chest puffed out with self-satisfaction of being able to say, "i called it," in the midst of disappointment and tragedy?

the band does everything the way they want to. they answer to no one but themselves. they create and produce music when and how they want that allows for the creative input of all members. they tour how and when they want, which encourages and maintains sales without burning themselves out. the explore other interests by engaging in side projects that includes music, charities, and global issues.

what part of any of that would have them wanting to walk away from something they spent the last 25 years(ish) of their lives building? it is not like they are playing state fairs and casinos humping away on a handful of hits trying to suck every last bit out of a rockstar dream.

surely there will be an end one day, but i am just going to enjoy the ride while it's still going and not worry about the inevitable end...

The Riot Act tour/era was the end (of shows and record making that had a sense urgency, healthy anger, etc.). Juuuust kidding (mostly). They're definitely a much more refined live band these days.

Not true, go to a springsteen concert and youll see the as good if not better than a pearl jam show.... If you think PJ has a lotta crowd interaction then you will be amazed at a bruce show as well as his 3.5 Plus hour shows every time.

Lol. Pretty sure that was me in the show relay thread, and I'm female, and I am far from out of things to say, haha. ;) And I wasn't really serious, btw. It's just an inkling at the back of my mind and know that it's a touch of paranoia on my part because I so don't want them to stop. But for the record, a lot of people have talked about this being the end (some have even said that would be best X_X ).
The one thing that has actually made me wonder if they might go on a long hiatus at least is the fact that Eddie did an interview last year where he actually said doing that was on his mind. Unfortunately, I forget which interview it was. It was around the time of the one ( or maybe even the same one) where he also talked about Springsteen being an inspiration for constant touring.... so from Eddie's perspective, it could literally go either way! :P
