Ever saw one of these vinyls?

Hi Folks!

I stumbled upon colored Yield and Avocado vinyls recently. Did anybody see them before and know where they come from? For me they look like pretty well done replicas except from the colour and the missing cut out yield sign…

According to the seller they sound awesome. He found them on a huge vinyl fair in the Netherlands last week. I just paid them and will receive them early next week. Got them for 30€ each…

Yea about $50 each is what I would pay. Bootlegs are cool, just wouldn't want to put to much money in them. I'm surprised it's taken this long to see boot studio albums.

It will be interesting which side of the argument the "I just want one to spin" people are on with this one. It's finally an affordable version of this LP...albeit a bootlegged one.

Definitely. I just saw a newly listed Benny too. The seller wants $1800 BIN. This is getting out of hand ...

That´s crazy! I recently completed my studio vinyls collection and spent a fortune on ebay just because I want to spin these black circles. But hey, when I am old and about to die, saving money will probably not be one of the most remarkable memories from my life. ;)

BTW: Still looking for Lost Dogs, if anybody wants to sell/trade.

If someone is avoiding ever owning the albums because of the prices this seems like a good way to go if you don't have anything against illegal counterfeiting .... that or waiting for the reissues. I think there is a 100% chance that at least the studio albums will be reissued one of these days (not so sure about Lost Dogs though).

    This is an honest question...

How do people know that these unofficial vinyl arent just pressed from CDs or worse? I see all these bootleg vinyl and even live show homemade vinyl and I just don't see the point unless it is authentic, high-fidelity (higher than CDs) audio pressed to vinyl.

    Am I missing something?

Wanting $1800 and getting $1800 are two different things.

Today I received the records and I just wanted to give you a quick update on the quality. I have got both, the original vinyls and the replicas and especially the avocado looks very cool. They are brand new, the booklet looks exactly like the original just the cardboard of the gatefold cover is a bit thinner and more glossy. The Yield record's sleve is a bit glossier, too. It also seems they are both a bit darker than the originals and some of the fonts are not exactly identical. But almost. The print quality is not as good as the real deal though and the sleeves feel cheaper in general.

The records look amazing, especially the sparkly blue self titled.

In terms of sound I can say that somebody did a pretty damn good job. I am using a Technics 1210mkII with an Ortofon 2m Blue cartridge on pretty decent amp with great speakers and I know my system. Apparently they took the CD-Masters the originals sound a tiny little bit more open and dynamic than the copies but still they sound extremely nice and I didn't stumble upon any pops or clicks.

Yes, I prefer the real deal, too and instead of paying over 100 bucks for one of these new pressings (which is what they go for on ebay already), it might be better to wait for a nice deal on an original or even for an official repress. If you can get one for a decent price, buy it, it's definitely the work of somebody who knows what they are doing. (and maybe even someone who is a pearl jam fan...:))

This just may be the best way to make the band start doing the reissues...let them see these bootlegs and the money theyll lose out on.

Just like an early leak of a record release pushes up the date. I am not for going about things the wrong way but if it is the only way to get them and it forces the hand to appease the fans, then I am all for it.
