Where are people hearing that Pearl Jam is playing Lollapalooza this year? Just curious.
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

    here lol

Its not out of the question (and I'd be fuckin stoked), but I think its unlikely with the wrigley show last year

Lolla 07 was a hugely underrated show IMO

Hope so. CCC tries to book bands for multiple festivals so that could mean ACL too

Does the standard Lolla contract really preclude artists from laying shows as far away as STL and DET?

It would be a little bit of a disappointment if they did play Lolla after just playing Wrigley last year. But... I'll always take a Chicago show with open arms. Just ask Houston fans how they feel on this one.

This Houston fan already has his hotel and plane booked for lolla... just waiting for tickets. ;)

That's got nothing to do with rumours though... me and the boys have been going the last 3 years now (this summer will be round 4).... lots of fun.

But yea... 2 shows in 2 years and apparently that's merit to complain... houston is the next biggest city in the US (and forecast to surpass Chicago by 2018), and apparently we haven't had a show in over 10 years... but who knew? :-@
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

Yes. I believe it is a 200 or 300 mile radius. So that would eliminate a Midwest tour.

    =))

I love how 300 miles eliminates a midwest tour... there are still plenty of places in the middle of america that can be played that are not within 300 miles on Chicago...

there have been 2 shows within 300 miles of houston in the 7 years i've lived here... 3 shows if you stretch it out to 400 miles... 4 shows if you stretch it out to 500 miles... (and yes, I have been to all 4)...

but get 2 shows in chicago in two years, one of which is an epic night at wrigley and the other is "festival" show at lolla, and bring on the complaints....

I would rather have 7 or 8 tour stops and venues than the cluster known as Lollapolooza for one show. This would be a stupid idea.

However, they did play the VIC right before Lolla last time, so maybe they have some pull on the proximity thing

That was a fan club only show, announced a week before Lolla with only about 800 (if that?) tickets sold. I am sure it was contractually agreed upon but those parameters were likely what made it palatable for Lolla organizers.

Selfishly, I hope this isn't true. Lolla only gives headliners 2 hours and would prevent them from playing anywhere else close to Chicago.

Dont see this happening. Lolla is 2 weeks after euro tour ends. Im skeptical about any US dates this year.

The Fall is still a possibility...

Would love to see a heartland tour some time.

Have a sneaking suspicion we'll see a Vedder solo tour before that happens tho... (Which I'm down with)

Completely disagree with people saying that this won't happen because the Euro tour ends two weeks before. This is almost an identical schedule to when they played Lolla in 2007. Also, a lot of the headliners play club or theatre shows in Chicago Lolla weekend (Foo Fighters and QOTSA recently). Some of them are even dubbed "Lolla aftershows."

Lots of people on the Lolla board are predicting PJ this year. Some have gone as far as saying they're confirmed. So far the only tour rumours for North America I've seen are in May so I'm going to believe the rumour of three week tour in May and a one-off show at Lolla to end the tour (maybe they'll play the Chicago Theatre the Thursday like they were supposed to in 2007).

Matt Cameron wouldn't take off ONE YEAR from Soundgarden for 2.5 months of Pearl Jam.

Whether they are in the US or not, there will be more PJ dates.

Any hint to maybe a US fall tour this year? By the way Eddie said PJ playing Wrigley at least next 3 years. He may have been in the moment , but I hope so. Maybe a Midwest and Southeast tour in fall. That would be awesome!!

Lollapalooza in Chicago is starting to make sense after today's newsletter.

Latest newsletter: "Pearl Jam has just returned from Australia - next stop Europe".

What does that have to do with Lolla? We already knew they were going to Europe next.

Many people (Myself included) thought a spring (May, June) United States tour would be their next stop before Europe. Looks like a possible fall tour and there have been rumors of the band playing Lolla right after Europe.

in 2012 the chili peppers played at the allstate arena in chicago on may 28th and still headlined lolla so there is a possibility that they can still play other shows in the region even if they end up headlining lolla this year.
